The School Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for students staff and visitors This role includes monitoring school property enforcing school safety policies responding to incidents and supporting a positive and safe learning environment Key Responsibilities 1 Campus Safety Monitoring Patrol school grounds buildings and surrounding areas to ensure safety Monitor entrances exits hallways and common areas Ensure only authorized individuals enter the school premises 2 Incident Response Respond promptly to security incidents disturbances or emergencies De-escalate conflicts and provide support to students and staff Report and document all incidents accurately and in a timely manner 3 Student Staff Support Assist students staff and visitors with safety-related concerns Promote positive relationships with students to encourage trust and cooperation Support staff during dismissal arrival transitions and large events 4 Policy Enforcement Enforce school rules safety regulations and district policies Ensure compliance with visitor check-in and identification procedures Monitor and report any suspicious activity hazards or unsafe behavior 5 Emergency Preparedness Participate in school emergency drills fire lockdown evacuation etc Assist in emergency planning and readiness Coordinate with local law enforcement or emergency responders when necessary Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent additional security training preferred Previous experience in security law enforcement or school supervision is an asset Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond effectively in emergencies Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work with children and adolescents in a positive respectful way Basic knowledge of safety protocols and conflict-resolution techniques Skills Competencies Observation and situational awareness Conflict de-escalation and problem-solving Professionalism and confidentiality Physical fitness to perform patrol duties Teamwork and collaboration Work Environment School campus indoor and outdoor May include standing walking and responding to physical situations Work hours may include early mornings evenings or school events Job Type Full-time Pay 10 000 00 - 15 000 00 per month Work Location In person
