Applicants must be registered with HCPC and have extensive post registration experience of working in a diagnostic Microbiology Lab. A MSc or Higher Specialist Diploma is essential however applicants without will be considered and if successful would be contractually obliged to complete within 4 years. The successful applicant must be motivated with good leadership qualities. Have good organisational and practical abilities supported by scientific knowledge, well developed interpersonal and communication skills and an ability to support individual and team working. Have evidence of continued professional development with knowledge of current developments within the Microbiology field. On completion of competency, you will be required to take part in the 7 day shift pattern 8am - 8pm Monday Friday & 8am - 5pm weekends. The Borders General Hospital sits in a beautiful rural setting with a train link to Edinburgh within walking distance. In person interviews will be held on site on 18th December 2025.
