Test Engineer

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Test Engineer with a strong background in API testing (manual and automation). The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with popular testing tools and frameworks, CI/CD practices, and be comfortable working in Agile environments. This role involves validating backend services, automating API tests, and ensuring the overall quality of applications through consistent testing efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform manual API testing using Postman to validate functionality, reliability, and performance.
- Automate API testing using RestAssured or Playwright for faster regression and continuous validation.
- Design and document test cases, test scenarios, and test data based on business requirements.
- Log, track, and manage bugs using JIRA or Azure DevOps and collaborate with development teams for resolution.
- Build and manage test automation pipelines using Jenkins integrated within CI/CD workflows.
- Use Visual Studio or VS Code as primary IDEs to develop and maintain automation scripts.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning and retrospectives.
- Ensure complete test coverage and conduct smoke, sanity, regression, and integration testing.
- Provide detailed test reports and quality metrics to stakeholders.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proficiency in API testing, both manual (Postman) and automated (RestAssured, Playwright).
- Experience with JIRA, Azure DevOps, and other test management tools.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins.
- Good knowledge of REST APIs, HTTP methods, and JSON/XML formats.
- Familiarity with SDLC, STLC, and Agile methodologies.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Comfortable working in rotational shifts and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in end-to-end automation framework development for APIs.
- Exposure to web UI automation tools or frameworks.
- Basic knowledge of databases and SQL queries for backend validation.
- Experience working on real-time applications in domains like e-commerce or finance.
