Department - Product Management Reports to - Group Product Manager, Payments Marketing Role Purpose The Product Manager (PM) will be responsible for the design, development, and delivery of Boku's In-App Storefront and Marketing products. In-app marketing creates a new direct-to-consumer channel for merchants by enabling them to engage users through storefronts, offers, and promotions embedded within payment partner mobile applications. This unlocks a powerful way for merchants to drive incremental sales, strengthen brand presence, and reach consumers directly inside the digital ecosystems they use every day. The PM will play a key role in bringing this product line to market by translating strategy into execution. They will work closely with engineering, delivery, and commercial teams to define requirements, manage the backlog, and oversee timely product releases. By ensuring the delivery of high-quality SDKs, APIs, and integrations, the PM will enable wallet and app partners to support merchants in reaching consumers effectively, while contributing to Boku's growth through new revenue-generating opportunities. Key Responsibilities - Product leadership: - Lead the day-to-day product lifecycle by defining scope, capturing requirements, and driving initial product releases. - Ensure execution is aligned with the overarching strategy of the In-App Storefront product line as set by the Product Lead, with a focus on validating product-market fit and enabling early adoption. - Technical product management: - Collaborate with Engineering to design and validate technical solutions, including authentication models, SDK flows, and merchant integration requirements, ensuring scalability, security, and reliability. - Cross-functional collaboration: - Partner with Engineering, Delivery, Commercial, and Partner teams to ensure smooth technical implementation of SDKs, APIs, and integrations that enable merchants and wallet partners to embed storefront and marketing capabilities. - Execution alignment and stakeholder communication: - Manage priorities, track progress against deliverables, and communicate updates to stakeholders across the business, escalating risks and dependencies to the Product Lead as needed. - Data-driven decision making: - Establish success metrics and measurement frameworks for pilot launches. - Use data from early experiments and partner integrations to validate assumptions, guide iteration, and identify areas for improvement. - Market analysis and positioning: - Stay close to industry trends, wallet ecosystems, and merchant needs to identify the most viable opportunities for adoption. - Gather insights from competitors and adjacent offerings to refine product positioning and inform go-to-market priorities. - Platform integration foundations: - Partner with Engineering to develop APIs, SDKs, and integration features that make onboarding early partners straightforward. - Prioritize flexibility and adaptability to support a variety of partner use cases, with scalability considerations built into the design for future growth. - Stakeholder communication: - Act as a key liaison between product teams and leadership, ensuring transparency and alignment on priorities. - Present roadmaps, updates, and outcomes to stakeholders, gathering feedback and adjusting plans as needed. Measures of Success - Adoption & Growth: Successful onboarding and adoption of In-App Storefront products by early wallet and merchant partners. Measurable increases in usage and engagement through pilot programs and initial market launches. - Customer & Partner Success: High levels of satisfaction from partners, measured by smooth integrations, feedback from pilots, and early indicators of product adoption and retention. - Product Delivery & Performance: Timely delivery of MVP and subsequent releases, with well-documented APIs/SDKs, minimal technical issues, and strong collaboration with Engineering to ensure stability and reliability. - Innovation & Development: Iterative delivery of new features and enhancements based on pilot learnings and partner feedback. Demonstrated ability to balance innovation with execution discipline. - Market Validation: Evidence of product-market fit demonstrated through merchant demand, early commercial wins, and validation against emerging market offerings. - Foundations for Scale: Development of a flexible and integration-ready platform that can evolve to support future growth across multiple partners and markets. Experience Key Skills and Competencies - 3+ years of product management experience, ideally in B2B, fintech, or mobile application ecosystems. - Demonstrated success in delivering new products from concept through MVP and pilot launch. - Experience working directly with engineering teams to deliver APIs, SDKs, and customer-facing integrations. Skills - Strong understanding of product management principles, with a focus on execution, backlog management, and delivering technical products to market. - Familiarity with front-end and mobile app development processes, including user flows, UX considerations, and partner integration requirements. - Ability to define and manage technical requirements for APIs, SDKs, and secure authentication flows. Technical Proficiency - Comfortable discussing architecture and technical tradeoffs with engineers across web and mobile platforms. - Familiarity with modern web technologies (e.g., JavaScript frameworks, REST/GraphQL APIs) and mobile app development environments (iOS, Android). - Understanding of cloud-based infrastructure, data security, and integration best practices. - Hands-on experience with product management and collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, and analytics platforms. Soft Skills - Strong communication skills to translate technical details into clear requirements for both engineers and non-technical stakeholders. - Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities across cross-functional teams. - Problem-solving mindset with the ability to learn quickly and adapt in a fast-moving, early-stage product environment. Collaborative approach with a customer-first perspective, ensuring solutions meet real partner and merchant needs. Preferred Qualifications - Experience working on SDKs, developer tools, or integration-heavy products. - Exposure to fintech, wallet ecosystems, or in-app commerce/marketing solutions. - Familiarity with Agile and Lean product development methodologies, including iterative releases and test-and-learn approaches. - Basic understanding of B2B SaaS metrics such as adoption, retention, and engagement.
