Company DescriptionAbout Grab and Our WorkplaceAt Grab every Grabber is guided by The Grab Way which spells out our mission how we believe we can achieve it and our operating principles - the 4Hs Heart Hunger Honour and Humility These principles guide and help us make decisions as we create economic empowerment for the people of Southeast Asia Get to Know the TeamGrab s legal team operates across the region supporting diverse product verticals within the Grab Group Get to Know the RoleWe re looking for a Technology Legal Counsel to join our growing legal team Reporting to the Technology Procurement Counsel you will collaborate with other Technology Legal Counsels and business stakeholders across all levels of Grab As part of a regional team you ll enhance our technology legal efforts This role will be onsite at Grab Office The Critical Tasks You will PerformProduct Support and General Tech Legal Advisory Partner with business engineering product cybersecurity country counsels DPO and privacy teams to ensure Grab s Products comply with regulatory and contractual obligations Ensure Grab s Products are compliant and optimized for their intended use including licensing for technology monetization Conduct due diligence on existing Products and ensure ongoing compliance Develop product-related procedures Lead technology-mapping exercises and be the go-to expert for technology-related legal questions Provide general advice to stakeholders on legal queries related to technology such as Generative AI and LLMs Advise key stakeholders on technology regulatory issues including changes to cybersecurity regulations and technology risk management guidelines Procurement Advise on and negotiate a range of technology procurement engagements ensuring contracts align with Grab s needs Oversee legal terms for software cloud SaaS hardware managed services outsourcing and latest technologies Support sell-side technology procurement negotiations Collaborate with other teams Procurement Cybersecurity Tax Privacy and DPO to incorporate essential input into procurement contracts Establish efficient processes for legal interactions with technology procurement stakeholders Transactions Draft and negotiate technology-related transaction documents including those tied to group M A activities Advise business and corporate finance teams on technology licensing IP commercial data and regulatory matters Be a bridge between legal and technology product teams creating technology provisions product descriptions and work orders Legal Support for Assigned Departments Advise on and negotiate a range of agreements and engagements specific to an Assigned Department Provide specialized legal support to assigned Departments based on their unique requirements and processes QualificationsWhat Skills You will Need At least 5 years of experience Preferably a mix of private practice and in-house experience but candidates with a commercial mindset from private practice are welcome Knowledge of copyright legislation and open-source licensing Experience negotiating important technology procurement contracts e g MSAs SaaS Agreements Software License Agreements Expertise in handling technology IP and data aspects of corporate transactions including Collaboration License and Sale Purchase Agreements Provide practical advice in complex situations Additional InformationLife at GrabWe care about your well-being at Grab here are some of the global benefits we offer We have your back with Term Life Insurance and comprehensive Medical Insurance With GrabFlex create a benefits package that suits your needs and aspirations Celebrate moments that matter in life with loved ones through Parental and Birthday leave and give back to your communities through Love-all-Serve-all LASA volunteering leave We have a confidential Grabber Assistance Programme to guide and uplift you and your loved ones through life s challenges What We Stand For at GrabWe are committed to building an inclusive and equitable workplace that enables diverse Grabbers to grow and perform at their best As an equal opportunity employer we consider all candidates fairly and equally regardless of nationality ethnicity religion age gender identity sexual orientation family commitments physical and mental impairments or disabilities and other attributes that make them unique Grab
