As Backend Team Lead, you will be responsible for architecting and scaling mission-critical backend systems, while leading a growing engineering team in a high-performance, high-ownership environment.

This is not a role for average performers—it's for technical leaders who want to build at scale, mentor elite engineers, and create products used globally in safety-critical environments.

What You'll Do

Lead backend development of HawkVision's core server applications (FastAPI/Django)

Architect, build, and maintain scalable APIs and services

Design and optimise MongoDB schemas and queries for high-throughput, real-time data

Manage CI/CD, containerisation, and infrastructure (Docker, GitHub Actions, Azure/AWS)

Review code, mentor developers, and ensure delivery of high-quality software on time

Collaborate with AI, frontend, and product teams to deliver new features

Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting for system health and performance

What We're Looking For

6+ years of backend development experience, with leadership in agile engineering teams

Deep expertise in Python (FastAPI or Django) and asynchronous programming patterns

Strong MongoDB knowledge at scale (indexing, aggregation, optimisation)

Hands-on experience with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms (Azure/AWS)

Proven ability to lead small teams end-to-end without heavy PM oversight

Bonus Skills

Experience building products at massive scale (millions of rows, thousands of requests/sec)

Knowledge of computer vision, IoT, or real-time media pipelines
