What is the Cross Categories Procurement Operations Team The Cross Categories Procurement Operations team is enabling the Delivery Procurement capability by focusing on continuous improvement and excellence of core procurement processes and solutions that underlie the execution of procurement activities like category management, sourcing, supplier management, contracting, and content management. This role also performs/ guides/ supports various Global Procurement/ Site-specific operations management activities per the assigned scope The capability owns the procurement process and system for the Delivery sites, provides subject matter expertise on various areas like upstream, downstream, direct procurement, content, and e-sourcing, and has oversight on the deployment and adoption of the various processes and systems by the Delivery capability to advance toward the chapter vision. The capability also provides general Delivery execution support as needed This position is part of the Procurement Operations Cross Categories team reporting into the Cross-Category Operations Management Team Lead Are you wondering what is in it for you As a Senior Procurement Operations Manager, you will work in a dynamic global environment where you will meet the challenge to bring structured thinking, facilitation, execution, and focus to procurement practices, processes, and solutions including automation, digital improvements. Using your specialized knowledge and in-depth expertise, you will provide oversight, coordination, support, and continuous improvements for our day-to-day procurement operations, including tools and methods, in line with the Delivery chapter's visions. You will work closely with procurement, IT, Roche services & solutions (incl. business process management, project management, regional solution centers), and other relevant colleagues either as a peer, coach, project/workstream lead, or subject matter expert, to align on needs, opportunity identification, and priority to develop, enhance, or deploy enabling services and solutions and respective governance to our internal customers Your Opportunity: Your key responsibilities include: Your successful performance and contribution depend on the full embodiment and demonstration of core mindsets and behaviors, including an entrepreneurial spirit, enterprise thinking, inclusive collaboration, and desire for continuous learning that underpin our culture and ways of working As a Senior Procurement Operations Manager, you will play a variety of roles according to your experience, knowledge, and general requirements, such as: - Acting as domain knowledge and subject matter specialist, providing input, advice, and know-how on functional operations, automation, efficiency, and procurement processes - Excellence practitioner identifying and facilitating continuous improvement opportunities, and overseeing Procurement delivery day-to-day operations - Excellence advocate accelerating the advancement of harmonized upstream practices, automation utilisation in the downstream, E2E procurement processes and solutions for the Delivery Chapter, and continuous improvement of our procurement operations - Coordinate the identification, consolidation, validation, and submission of site-specific process and systems maintenance and enhancement requests for ongoing improvement. Conduct/ support User Acceptance Testing as needed - Lead and/or support the implementation of, and compliance to regional process and policy changes, including local process documentation updates, localization, and training - Manage/ Oversee / Support Operational Procurement Audit compliance i.e. vendor add/change audit activities, banking information verification audit, and other operational audit support - Provide input into systems settings, including relevant local data, organizational setups (i.e. purchasing group, routing logic), and other information needed to operationalize systems - Assisting with complex purchasing and with guiding Shared Service Center (SSC) escalations as appropriate - Conceptualizing and prototyping ideas by creating basic tools in partnership with stakeholders and procurement teams - You will work within the broader global team and GP networks and squads to determine the other various roles needed to deliver project and foundational work Who you are: You bring the following skills, mindsets, and behaviors: - You hold a university degree, with a business or information technology degree preferable - You also have 9+ years within procurement operational procurement, technology management, or process management, ideally in a matrix organization, and demonstrated deep conceptual knowledge and experience of procurement practices, processes and solution management and oversight In addition, you have: - The ability to explain general procurement operations area information to others and/or collect/translate moderately complex stakeholder requirements - Ability to understand process/system variation at each local site to ensure local requirements are represented while maintaining global ideal process perspective - Experience with Procurement requisition and procure to pay systems and processes - Experience in leading or supporting value improvement programs utilizing lean or agile project management methodologies - Depth in Lean Six Sigma, Agile methodologies is preferred - Experience with enterprise systems and procure to pay and eSourcing tools - Business level fluency in English (German may be beneficial for certain positions) Mindset and Behaviors - You strive to act as an enterprise thinker and leverage knowledge and expertise to create solutions for business customers by proactively fostering collaboration, including across the procurement network - You are action-oriented and can make decisions and influence others to do the same you repurpose work and ideas in favor of starting from scratch - You demonstrate curiosity, active listening, and a willingness to experiment and test new ideas when appropriate, focusing on continuous learning and improvement - You work with colleagues across procurement, business, and the broader Roche organization to broaden knowledge and expertise, better understand customer needs, and connect the dots - You are open-minded and inclusive, generously sharing ideas and knowledge while being receptive to ideas and feedback from others Who we are A healthier future drives us to innovate.
