Job Description Summary
The Safety Officer is responsible for monitoring and implementing workplace health, safety, and environmental standards to ensure compliance with statutory regulations and organizational policies. The role ensures a safe working environment for all employees, contractors, and visitors by promoting a strong safety culture.
Job Description
About the Role:
- Develop, implement, and enforce safety policies and procedures in line with legal and organizational requirements.
- Conduct regular site inspections, safety audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations, standards, and client requirements.
- Provide safety training, toolbox talks, and awareness sessions for employees and contractors.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, preparing reports and recommending preventive measures.
- Maintain and update safety documentation, permits, and statutory records.
- Monitor use of PPE, safety equipment, and emergency procedures.
- Coordinate with site management, supervisors, and contractors to ensure safe project execution.
- Assist in developing and updating emergency response and evacuation plans.
- Report safety performance, KPIs, and compliance issues to management regularly.
About You
- Proven experience as safety manager
- Deep understanding of legal health and safety guidelines
- Ability in producing reports and developing relevant policies
- Good knowledge of data analysis and risk assessment
- Excellent organizational and motivational skills
- Outstanding attention to detail and observation ability
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities
- BSc/ safety management or relevant field is preferred
- Valid qualification in occupational health and safety
