Summary This role leads tax accounting activities across the Tax Accounting Center of Excellence COE overseeing multiple process workstreams including trial balance analysis tax provisioning corporate income tax CIT return preparation local tax audit support and integration planning and execution The position requires a hands-on approach to problem-solving and continuous process improvement You will identify and assess tax accounting-related risks collaborating with cross-functional teams to design and implement effective mitigation strategies Through strong interpersonal and communication skills you will articulate complex tax and accounting concepts across the organization influence decision-making and drive alignment Additionally you will play a key role in proactively resolving potential conflicts between Controllership and Tax functions to ensure cohesive and efficient execution of business objectives Essential Responsibilities Lead several process workstreams through explorations gap analysis integration planning execution and problem solving Identify finance-related risks and partner with cross-functional teams to mitigate the identified risks Discuss finance accounting concepts with others across the organization Lead and drive execution of plans and influence where you do not have direct authority through strong interpersonal skills Proactively engage evaluate and drive resolution of potential conflicts between various Finance and non-Finance functions Manage multiple workstreams simultaneously Work collaboratively with workstream leads and subject matter experts to arrive at risk-based approaches related to tactical execution steps Comfort with problem solving and creative solutioning Expected Qualifications 5 years relevant experience and a Bachelor s degree OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience Additional Responsibilities Preferred Qualifications Utilize local GAAP trial balances and the tax provision template to assist in calculating the local tax provision charge Provide leadership and guidance to team members ensuring all deliverables are completed accurately and within required timelines Collaborate with external providers e g EY or Deloitte and the BPO team when the tax provision calculation is outsourced ensuring all deliverables are submitted and conducting the initial review Develop financial models to calculate the U S tax charge for the following year Provide coaching and training to tax accountants to ensure timely and accurate recording of all quarterly accruals in SAP Partner with internal tax compliance teams and external tax advisors to support the preparation of Corporate Income Tax Return CIT calculations Prepare and maintain linked files for review by the PayPal tax advisory team Conduct the initial review and approval of CIT returns prior to submission to the tax team Record final CIT true-ups in SAP Manage and reconcile SAP tax ledgers to local GAAP trial balances P L and balance sheet Provide ongoing support to the tax advisory team as needed Support local tax audits including data sourcing and documentation for audit requests Assist the Controllership team with tax-related deliverables for both financial statement audits and other reviews Prepare review and approve tax statistical returns across all markets Support Pillar II implementation facilitation and related accounting processes Provide strong leadership mentoring and support to the wider tax accounting team Subsidiary PayPal Travel Percent 0 PayPal does not charge
