Full job descriptionMaintenance Electrician installs, maintains, and repairs electrical systems and equipment; inspects components for safety and functionality; troubleshoots and diagnoses problems using testing devices; and adheres to safety regulations and codes. They read blueprints and schematics, replace faulty parts, and keep detailed records of their work to ensure the efficient and safe operation of electrical systems in facilities. Key Duties & Responsibilities Installation & Maintenance: Install new electrical systems, equipment, and components, such as wiring, conduit, and lighting systems. Perform routine and preventative maintenance on existing systems and equipment to prevent breakdowns.Troubleshooting & Repair: Diagnose and repair malfunctions in electrical systems, including circuits, motors, and control systems. Utilize various testing devices to identify and resolve electrical problems.Inspection & Testing: Conduct regular inspections of electrical components like circuit breakers, transformers, and other apparatus to identify potential issues and ensure they are functioning correctly and safely.Code Compliance: Ensure all electrical work and repairs comply with local, state, and national electrical codes, such as OSHA regulations.Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections for future reference and documentation.Collaboration: Work effectively with other maintenance technicians, engineers, and contractors on complex projects and to ensure smooth operations.Emergency Response: Respond promptly to emergency repair requests to minimize downtime and restore electrical functionality.Reading Technical Documentation: Interpret and follow blueprints, schematics, technical diagrams, and wiring plans to accurately install and repair electrical systems.
