SAP Technical Manager

Job Description Job Description As an S/4HANA Technical Architect, you will shape the technical landscape of our SAP systems, primarily supporting the Material Management Planning (MMP) team. Your responsibility will be to define the technical architecture for S/4HANA programs, covering greenfield implementations with a strong emphasis on Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling (PP/DS), Inventory Management, and core Material Management functionalities. You will translate complex MMP business requirements into efficient, scalable, and secure technical architectures, collaborating with stakeholders, functional consultants, and technical teams. You will provide expert guidance on SAP HANA, drive best practices in development, integration using SAP Integration Suite, and cloud strategies, and contribute to the evolution of our SAP ecosystem with emerging technologies like AI. Responsibilities - Define and design comprehensive technical architectures for SAP S/4HANA solutions, ensuring robust support for Material Management Planning (MMP) processes, including PP/DS, Inventory Management, and core Material Management. - Lead the technical design and implementation of S/4HANA solutions specific to MMP, covering operational excellence. - Design and govern custom development frameworks, ensuring ABAP, Fiori, and extensions for MMP adhere to SAP best practices and are upgrade-safe. - Oversee ABAP development for MMP, including ABAP on HANA, AMDP, CDS views , RAP, CAP and OData services, leveraging clean core principles and API integrations. - Lead integration architecture across SAP modules (e.g., MM, PP, SD), legacy systems, and third-party applications relevant to MMP, utilizing tools such as SAP BTP Integration Suite (CPI), SAP PO, and API management. - Manage the development and customization of SAP applications using ABAP, SAPUI5, Fiori, and SAP BTP (including CAPM and cloud-native technologies) to enhance MMP user experiences. - Drive Fiori activation and develop Fiori apps specifically for MMP users, ensuring optimal UI/UX for tasks like inventory visibility or PP/DS monitoring. - Develop and implement SAP BTP architectures to extend MMP capabilities, leveraging services like Extension Suite and HANA Cloud. - Evaluate and recommend new SAP technologies, including AI and machine learning, to enhance MMP functionality and business processes (e.g., predictive inventory). - Ensure adherence to security, compliance, and SAP best practices across all technical components related to MMP. - Lead technical workstreams like custom code remediation, data migration, and system conversions for MMP data and configurations. - Conduct technical assessments, code reviews, and performance tuning for high-quality, scalable MMP solutions. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams, especially the MMP functional team, to define scalable, secure architectures. - Mentor junior architects and developers, fostering knowledge sharing within the MMP technical domain. - Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of SAP architecture, configurations, and processes, with an MMP focus. Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field. - 15+ years in SAP architecture, development, and implementation, with 4+ years in S/4HANA projects. - Proven experience as an SAP Technical Architect on at least two full-cycle S/4HANA implementation (greenfield or brownfield), with significant exposure to Material Management Planning (MMP) processes. - Deep expertise in SAP S/4HANA technical components, including NetWeaver, ABAP programming, and HANA DB architecture. - Strong hands-on experience with ABAP on HANA, AMDP, CDS views, OData services, and object-oriented programming, especially for MM, IM, and PP/DS. - Extensive experience with SAP Fiori/UI5 development, activation, and optimization for MMP-related applications. - Solid knowledge and practical experience with SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), including Integration Suite (CPI), Extension Suite, CAPM, and cloud-native development, applied to MMP. - Experience in designing integration solutions using SAP BTP, CPI, SAP PO/PI, and API management for MMP interfaces. - Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and their integration within the SAP ecosystem, specifically for optimizing MMP. - Strong functional understanding and technical experience with SAP Material Management (MM), Inventory Management (IM), and Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling (PP/DS). - Strong understanding of SAP Activate methodology and SAP best practices. - Knowledge of SAP landscape planning and cloud hosting strategies. - Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills with a strategic mindset. - Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, able to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders, including the MMP business team. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with demonstrable leadership experience in full lifecycle SAP implementations. - Relevant certifications (e.g., SAP S/4HANA, SAP BTP, TOGAF) are a plus.
