Software Development Manager

Job Description Manage a team that designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc. We are seeking a hands-on Engineering Manager to lead product development teams building Oracle security and Identity management services. In this role, you will drive technical excellence, guide product direction, and foster a culture of trust, direct feedback, and healthy debate. You will measure team health and delivery through outcomes, focusing on cycle time and limiting work in progress (WIP) to maximize flow. Do you believe the best managers empower their teams, prioritize continual improvement, and stay close to both people and problems This is the opportunity for you Preferred Qualifications: - Bachelor's or master's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field - 10+ years of experience in software development. - 3+ years of hands-on management experience in software engineering. - Excellent leadership and team-building skills, proven ability to hire and grow talents. - Experience in designing enterprise scale full-stack cloud-based services - Deep technical expertise working with leading platforms such as OCI, AWS, Azure, GCP - Experience with container orchestration technologies (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker) - Experience in managing a tier-0 mission critical service - Experience in with DevOps, Observability and Infrastructure as a code (Terraform) - Strong grasp of Agile/SCRUM development in enterprise environments - Experience in full-stack cloud services and modern backend technologies (Java, Python). - Experience in managing Jira environments - Excellent communication skills with a collaborative and decisive leadership style Key Responsibilities . Drive Outcomes:Measure and improve team throughput, delivering impactful customer outcomes-not just shipping features. . Empower Individuals:Encourage experimentation, support creative problem solving, and recognize the unique strengths of each team member. . Technical Leadership:Set and uphold engineering standards for architecture, code quality, reliability, security, and operational excellence. . Collaborate Cross-Functionally:Work with product and leadership to translate vision into actionable execution communicate clearly across all levels and disciplines. . Coach, Develop & Hire:Mentor engineers, nurture talent, and participate in hiring exceptional people who enhance our culture and ability to deliver. .
