We assess all relevant issues right from the start of project development, including current and future travel requirements, urban planning, economic and social development, and environmental protection. SYSTRA has completed 17,000+ Square kilometer of Statutory Master Planning and 15+ City Development Plans (CDPs). We are seeking applications for the position of Socio-economic expert for Zonal Development Plans for eastern part of India. Missions/Main Duties: - Data Collection & Field Surveys: Conduct and oversee field surveys and the collection of socio-economic data at the city/town and local level. - Socio-Economic Analysis: Analyze and interpret socio-economic data, including demographic trends, employment, income, housing, and other aspects relevant to urban and regional planning. - Data Projections & Urban Database Creation: Project key socio-economic indicators and contribute to the creation and maintenance of urban databases using both primary (field) and secondary data sources. - Secondary Data Utilization: Source and analyze secondary data relevant to the project scope, ensuring robust and comprehensive context for recommendations. - Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with local authorities, agencies, and community representatives for data verification and to ensure project requirements are met. - Reporting & Documentation: Prepare reports, summaries, and presentations of socio-economic findings, ensuring clarity and accuracy for use in Zonal Development Plan documentation. - Project Support: Support the planning team with insights and recommendations derived from socio-economic analysis to inform proposals and policies. Profile/Skills: - Postgraduate Degree in Sociology, Economics, Geography, Social Work, or an equivalent discipline from a recognized institution. - Minimum 5 years of experience in socio-economic data collection, including field surveys and analysis for urban/local areas. - Demonstrated experience in projections, creation of urban databases using primary and secondary sources, and reporting for urban planning projects. - Strong analytical and quantitative abilities in socio-economic surveys and data analysis - Proficient in using statistical and data management software/tools (e.g., SPSS, MS Excel) - Experience in designing and implementing field surveys - Knowledge of urban development and planning processes is preferred. : We commit to put people who join us at the heart of improving transportation and urban infrastructure efficiency.
