Optum is a global organization that delivers care aided by technology to help millions of people live healthier lives The work you do with our team will directly improve health outcomes by connecting people with the care pharmacy benefits data and resources they need to feel their best Here you will find a culture guided by inclusion talented peers comprehensive benefits and career development opportunities Come make an impact on the communities we serve as you help us advance health optimization on a global scale Join us to start Caring Connecting Growing together We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Software Engineer Sr Engineering Manager to lead drive production support for critical PA platforms like PAS PANDA RxAuth PAHub etc This role is pivotal in ensuring the stability performance and modernization of our production systems The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise in Pega Azure and AI ML and will lead efforts in proactive monitoring incident triaging and automation Primary Responsibilities Lead support for PAS PANDA RxAuth PAHub ensuring uptime performance and SLA adherence Lead incident management and root cause analysis for P1 P2 issues with a focus on proactive detection and resolution Drive the implementation of AI ML-based monitoring and alerting systems to reduce incident influx and improve triaging speed Collaborate with cross-functional teams across Dev Support and Infrastructure to ensure seamless delivery and support Champion the use of Azure-native services and Pega platform capabilities to modernize legacy workflows Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement Own and evolve the observability strategy using tools like Splunk Azure Monitor and custom telemetry Contribute to the design and development of automation scripts and tools to enhance system reliability and reduce manual toil Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract company policies and procedures and any and all directives such as but not limited to transfer and or re-assignment to different work locations change in teams and or work shifts policies in regard to flexibility of work benefits and or work environment alternative work arrangements and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment The Company may adopt vary or rescind these policies and directives in its absolute discretion and without any limitation implied or otherwise on its ability to do so Required Qualifications Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science Engineering or related field 15 years of experience in software engineering with at least 4 years in a production support lead or SLO role Solid hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure App Services Functions Monitor DevOps Experience with observability tools like Splunk App Insights and Prometheus Proven expertise in Pega platform development and administration Solid understanding of AI ML concepts and experience applying them to operational use cases e g anomaly detection predictive alerts Familiarity with GenAI tools E g CoPilot Splunk MLTK and Azure OpenAI services is a plus Excellent problem-solving communication and stakeholder management skills Flexible to work off hours including weekends in case of critical business issues e g Priority 1 or 2 incidents At UnitedHealth Group our mission is to help people live healthier lives and make the health system work better for everyone We believe everyone - of every race gender sexuality age location and income - deserves the opportunity to live their healthiest life Today however there are still far too many barriers to good health which are disproportionately experienced by people of color historically marginalized groups and those with lower incomes We are committed to mitigating our impact on the environment and enabling and delivering equitable care that addresses health disparities and improves health outcomes - an enterprise priority reflected in our mission
