Job Summary: The Room Attendant Housekeeping is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in guest rooms, restrooms, and designated public areas. This position requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to follow instructions and work both independently and as part of a team. The ideal candidate ensures a pleasant and welcoming environment for all guests, consistently upholding the hotel’s standards of cleanliness, service, and safety.Key Responsibilities:1. Room Cleaning & Maintenance Clean and sanitize guest rooms, including making beds, dusting furniture, wiping surfaces, and vacuuming floors. Clean bathrooms thoroughly, including sinks, toilets, bathtubs, mirrors, and floor areas using appropriate disinfectants and cleaning tools. Change linens, towels, and replenish amenities such as soap, shampoo, toilet paper, water bottles, etc. Check and report any maintenance issues (e.g., broken lights, plumbing problems) to the supervisor immediately. 2. Bed Making & Guest Comfort Ensure beds are made neatly with fresh linens and pillows arranged properly. Replace used beddings and blankets in accordance with hotel standards. Adjust room temperature or settings based on guest preferences if needed. 3. Public Area and Restaurant Cleaning (if assigned) Support cleanliness in other hotel areas such as corridors, lobbies, and guest restrooms. Clean dining areas, restock napkins, and sanitize surfaces in the restaurant or room service areas when assigned. Ensure all public spaces remain tidy, organized, and ready for guest use at all times. 4. Guest Service & Communication Greet guests politely and respond to basic questions or requests in a helpful manner. Communicate effectively with guests and colleagues using polite, respectful, and clear language. Report guest feedback, complaints, or unusual activity to the supervisor promptly. 5. Cooperation with Superiors and Team Follow all directions given by supervisors and managers respectfully and accurately. Maintain a positive attitude even in high-pressure or busy times. Promote a peaceful and cooperative environment; avoid arguments or conflict, and report issues to supervisors instead of engaging in disputes. 6. Adherence to Rules & Regulations Follow hotel policies, housekeeping procedures, and safety protocols consistently. Wear the assigned uniform properly and maintain personal cleanliness and hygiene. Use cleaning supplies and equipment responsibly, ensuring no damage to property or injury. 7. Handling Special Requests & Additional Guests Assist with setting up extra beds, cribs, or amenities for rooms with additional guests. Ensure extra linens, towels, or toiletries are provided as per guest or front office requests.Skills: Basic cleaning knowledge and physical stamina for long hours of standing and manual tasks. Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Honest, reliable, and respectful behavior with guests and colleagues. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move moderate loads (e.g., linen baskets, cleaning carts). Capability to bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods.
