The Opportunity

Were looking for a Director of Engineering Data Platforms to lead the design, development, and delivery of our next-generation data platform capabilities. This is a high-impact leadership role where youll shape the future of data at LSEGdriving innovation, building scalable systems, and enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization.

What Youll Do

Lead with Vision

- Define and drive the roadmap for enterprise-scale data platforms.
- Champion platform reliability, performance, and scalability.
- Foster a culture of engineering excellence and continuous improvement.

Deliver with Impact

- Oversee the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) for data engineering.
- Implement best practices in CI/CD, testing, observability, and documentation.
- Lead agile teams to deliver secure, high-quality data solutions.

Collaborate to Succeed

- Partner with product, architecture, and business leaders to align on strategy.
- Mentor and grow engineering managers, tech leads, and senior engineers.
- Serve as a trusted advisor on data strategy and engineering practices.

Architect for the Future

- Design secure, efficient, and governed data pipelines.
- Embed data quality, lineage, and governance into platform architecture.
- Promote modern data paradigms like Lakehouse, Data Mesh, and open formats.

Innovate with Purpose

- Stay ahead of emerging technologies in cloud-native data platforms.
- Evaluate and adopt tools that enhance performance and developer experience.

What You Bring

- Proven leadership in building and scaling data/platform engineering teams.
- Deep expertise in modern data architectures (e.g., data lakes, streaming).
- Hands-on experience with Spark, Flink, Python/Scala/Java, and SQL.
- Strong knowledge of Azure data services and open-source tools (e.g., Delta Lake, Iceberg, Kafka, Airflow).
- Experience implementing data governance, security, and compliance frameworks.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Familiarity with agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
