About the Team

Become part of Workday's Public Cloud Infrastructure Team, an encouraging and collaborative group of software developers, cloud engineers, and Site Reliability Engineers (SREs) who are passionate about building and maintaining the secure and scalable infrastructure that powers Workday in the cloud. We're focused on learning, growth, and innovation as we develop, deploy, and manage automated cloud services. If you're eager to launch your career in cloud infrastructure, passionate about the possibilities of automation, and want to learn and contribute in a dynamic multi-cloud environment, Workday offers a phenomenal place to begin your journey and build your skills.

About the Role

As a contributing member of Workday's Public Cloud Engineering team, you will play a valuable role in building and managing our infrastructure in the public cloud (AWS or GCP). Your focus will involve learning to support the design, implementation, and operation of our Cloud Environment Build System, contributing to our cloud adoption efforts. You'll have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with modern tools and technologies, playing a key role in Workday's cloud efficiency. This role is ideal for someone with a strong curiosity about cloud platforms, foundational software engineering skills, and a collaborative spirit with a desire to learn and grow within an encouraging team.

What You'll Do

- Support Cloud Environment Setup: Learn to support the automation of cloud environment creation and the deployment of Workday software. Contribute to basic infrastructure and configuration management tasks under mentorship, gaining practical experience.

- Explore Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD): Observe and participate in the maintenance of automated pipelines that help deliver value to our customers, learning about modern software delivery practices.

- Contribute to Public Cloud Infrastructure Practices: Learn about and contribute to the implementation of guidelines and procedures for Public Cloud practices, developing your understanding of industry standards.

- Collaborate on Team Projects: Work collaboratively with more senior team members on development and system architecture tasks. Assist in identifying and implementing solutions to improve the reliability and efficiency of our cloud environment, making tangible contributions.

Our Approach to Flexible Work

With Flex Work, we're combining the best of both worlds: in-person time and remote. Our approach enables our teams to deepen connections, maintain a strong community, and do their best work. We know that flexibility can take shape in many ways, so rather than a number of required days in-office each week, we simply spend at least half (50%) of our time each quarter in the office or in the field with our customers, prospects, and partners (depending on role). This means you'll have the freedom to create a flexible schedule that caters to your business, team, and personal needs, while being intentional to make the most of time spent together. Those in our remote home office roles also have the opportunity to come together in our offices for important moments that matter.

Are you being referred to one of our roles If so, ask your connection at Workday about our Employee Referral process
