Position Summary: The Project Finance Controller will provide end to end financial leadership, control, governance, and analytical rigour for the Gujarat Smart Meter Installation Project. The role ensures transparent, process driven, compliant, and efficient financial stewardship across project execution, installation, operations & maintenance (O&M), vendor management, statutory compliance, and internal controls. Key Responsibilities: 1. Project Financial Control & Governance - Lead complete project finance management for the Gujarat Smart Meter Project. - Establish and enforce financial controls, SOP adherence, and risk mitigation processes. - Monitor end to end procure to pay, order to cash, asset deployment, and O&M cost cycles. - Ensure real time visibility into financial performance. 2. Project Budgeting, Forecasting & Viability Analysis - Own project P&L, budgeting, quarterly reforecasts, and cost-benefit tracking. - Analyse project viability; identify deviations, overruns, leakages, and recommend corrective actions. - Lead scenario modelling and profitability tracking for installation and O&M phases. 3. Leakage Monitoring, Cost Control & Efficiency - Plug revenue leakages, validate billing milestones, and ensure accurate recognition. - Validate contractor invoices, materials issue tracking, logistics, and deployment efficiency. - Implement dashboards, data automation, and exception reporting. 4. Compliance, Statutory, Taxation & Audit - Ensure GST, TDS, income tax, PF, ESIC, PT, and labour law compliance for project operations. - Drive statutory, internal, and process audits; ensure on time PBC submission. - Coordinate with HO Taxation team for monthly/annual filings. 5. Financial Reporting & MIS - Publish monthly project MIS, ageing, cost analyses, installation productivity dashboards. - Report working capital metrics including AR, AP, advances, retentions, and project wise cashflow. - Support HO finance team with consolidated MIS, dashboards, and project commentary. 6. Controls, ERP Governance & Documentation - Maintain rigorous documentation for all vendor, contractor, statutory and project records. - Operationalize Project Management Module in ERP & drive ERP data hygiene for accuracy, completeness, and audit readiness. 7. Stakeholder Management - Work with Project Lead, Contractors, SCM, HO Finance, O&M Teams, OEMs, and Government Stakeholders. - Manage weekly reviews, highlight risks, propose corrective interventions. - Instill a culture of integrity, compliance, discipline, and analytical rigor. Accountability: - Zero financial leakage across billing, procurement, contractor payments, and installation cycles. - Accurate, timely project MIS and monthly financial close (WD + 5/6). - Statutory & tax compliance-100% on-time filings and documentation integrity. - Working capital control-AP ageing, AR realisation, reduction of open items. - Audit readiness with minimal observations. - Transparency, governance, and reliable financial decision support for the Project Lead. Qualifications & Experience: Education- - MBA (Finance) / BCom / MCom with strong project finance exposure. Experience- - 10-15 years in Finance & Accounts, with minimum 5+ years in large infrastructure/utility/AMISP/Smart Energy projects. - Demonstrated experience in project financial control, statutory compliance, taxation, ERP, audits, and financial governance. - Experience managing multi stakeholder, large scale field deployment projects is essential. Skills- - Strong command of GST/TDS, statutory laws, Companies Act, and labour law compliances. - Excellent analytical, costing, budgeting, variance analysis, and modelling capability. - Strong ERP systems knowledge; advanced Excel/Power BI preferred. - Proactive risk identification, process driven execution, and high ownership.
