The Goal

As the Regional Financial Controller for India, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity and accuracy of local financial reporting, overseeing internal controls, and providing strategic financial leadership. This position will report directly to the Group Financial Controller based in London and will work closely with senior management, as well as cross-functional teams, to drive financial efficiency in India.

The Regional Financial Controller for India will be the sole finance professional based in the country. The role requires a hands-on approach from a self-driven individual.

What Youll Be Doing

Financial Reporting & Analysis:

- Oversee and manage the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow reports, and variance analysis.
- Ensure compliance with Indian accounting standards (IND-AS), tax regulations, and local statutory requirements.

Internal Controls & Compliance

-

- Implement and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Monitor financial processes and systems to ensure accuracy and consistency in reporting.
- Ensure timely preparation and filing of tax returns, including GST, corporate tax, and other statutory obligations.

Audit & Risk Management

- Coordinate and manage both internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with statutory, tax, and company requirements.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks, providing recommendations for process improvements.

Budgeting & Forecasting

-

- Lead the annual costs budgeting process for India, collaborating with departmental heads to set realistic cost savings goals and objectives.

Strategic Support

-

- Support ad-hoc financial analysis and projects as required by the Financial Controller or senior management.

The Player

What Youll Bring

- Relevant accounting qualification (e.g. ACA / CIMA/ ACCA or equivalent).
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in finance and accounting, with at least 2 years in a senior financial role.
- In-depth knowledge of Indian accounting standards (IND-AS), tax laws and financial regulation.
- Strong experience in financial reporting and internal controls.
- Proven track record of managing audits and working with external auditors.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
- Proficiency in accounting software (experience with Microsoft Dynamics would be an advantage) and Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in multinational companies or large corporate environments is preferred.

This position is hybrid 3 days a week in the office. Days in the office are flexible.
