Job Description Android Platform Engineer – IVI (14 to 20 Years of Experience) Location: Pune / Bangalore Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Android Platform Engineer with 14 to 20 years of expertise in Android internals, AOSP framework, and In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) system development. The ideal candidate must have a deep understanding of Android platform architecture, IPC mechanisms, automotive protocols, and system integration. This role requires hands-on development of core IVI features such as Tuner, Media, Bluetooth (BT), Phone, ECall, Voice Assistant, and Projection, along with collaboration across cross-functional teams to drive product success. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and integrate Android-based IVI solutions, ensuring alignment with automotive standards. - Work extensively on Android internals, services, and AOSP platform architecture to enhance system performance. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software, hardware, testing, and product teams, to design and implement robust solutions. - Lead the development, testing, and optimization of IVI features such as Tuner, Media, BT, Phone, ECall, Voice Assistant, and Projection. - Analyze customer requirements, provide technical solutions, and ensure seamless implementation. - Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering technical excellence within the team. - Work with Agile methodologies and SDLC frameworks to ensure efficient development cycles. Mandatory Skills & Experience: - Strong expertise in Android internals, services, and native frameworks. - Deep understanding of AOSP platform architecture and Android build systems. - Extensive experience in developing IVI system features, including Tuner, Media, Bluetooth, Phone, ECall, Voice Assistant, and Projection. - Proficiency in SDLC, Agile methodologies, and Git version control. - Knowledge of IPC mechanisms such as MOST, Ethernet AVB, SOME-IP, and d-bus. - Hands-on experience with CAN communication, diagnostics, and calibration in automotive environments. - Experience with HMI frameworks and UI lifecycle management. - Strong understanding of Open Source Software (OSS) licensing relevant to IVI. Preferred Skills & Knowledge: - Knowledge of vehicle architecture and various automotive sub-domains. - Experience with infrastructure modules such as lifecycle management, persistence, HMI frameworks, and calibration. - Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills. Soft Skills: - Excellent documentation and presentation abilities. - Strong negotiation skills and ability to manage stakeholders effectively. - Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships within and outside the organization. - Effective written and verbal communication skills. - Leadership qualities with the ability to mentor and guide teams.
