Job Title : Android HMI Engineer Automotive IVI (AOSP) Location : Bangalore Experience : 3 8 Years Industry : Automotive Domain : HMI Notice Period : Immediate / 15 Days Notice Period Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Android HMI Engineer to join our team working on next-generation In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) systems. As part of the AOSP-based automotive HMI team, you will be responsible for developing and integrating HMI layers that deliver rich, interactive, and responsive in-car user experiences. Key Responsibilities Design and implement HMI layers and features on Android Automotive / AOSP . Develop and customize Android applications, services, and system components. Collaborate with the design team to review UI/UX and provide technical suggestions. Interface with middleware and HAL components to integrate vehicle data. Optimize performance, memory usage, and boot time of HMI applications. Debug and resolve issues related to existing and upcoming HMI applications. Work closely with cross-functional teams including platform, QA, design, and customers. Required Skills Strong development experience with Android Framework, AOSP, and Android SDK . Proficiency in Java and Kotlin . Experience with HMI architecture in Automotive IVI projects. Good understanding of Android application lifecycle, services, broadcasts, and content providers. Hands-on experience with Git , Android Soong , and Gradle build systems. Understanding of Vehicle HAL (VHAL) in Android Automotive. Knowledge of automotive communication protocols such as CAN/LIN . Familiarity with performance profiling tools, Logcat, ADB, and system debugging tools. Soft Skills Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Good communication and collaboration skills while working with cross-functional teams. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and evolving environment. Education Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or a related engineering discipline.
