This role is for one of the Weekday's clients Min Experience: 5 years Location: Bangalore JobType: full-time As a Founding Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in building the core technology foundation and shaping both the product and engineering culture from the ground up. This position is ideal for someone who wants to work in a fast-paced, ownership-driven environment where ideas move quickly from concept to execution. You will collaborate directly with the founding team, lead critical architectural decisions, and drive the development of scalable, high-performance systems. This role offers the rare opportunity to influence product direction, establish engineering best practices, and create systems that can scale with rapidly growing business demands. If you enjoy solving complex problems, experimenting with new technology, and building products end-to-end, this role will give you immense autonomy and impact. Requirements Key Responsibilities • Architect, design, and implement core backend services and infrastructure using Python. • Build foundational components that will support scalability, reliability, and long-term product growth. • Collaborate closely with founders and product stakeholders to convert ideas into working features. • Set up engineering best practices, coding standards, development guidelines, and review processes. • Improve system performance, optimize APIs, and ensure high-quality, maintainable code. • Work on deployment pipelines, automation, integrations, and end-to-end system reliability. • Take full ownership of features from concept through release, including testing and documentation. • Identify technical risks early and propose solutions to maintain product stability. • Contribute to shaping team culture and mentoring future engineering hires as the team expands. • Drive a culture of innovation by experimenting with new tools, frameworks, and approaches.
