Job description: Engineer / Sr Engineer -Motor QA Location: Krishnagiri, Hosur About The Role We are seeking a skilled Quality Engineer specializing in Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors (PMSMs) to oversee and drive quality assurance activities throughout the motor development and production lifecycle. The role includes monitoring in-process quality, supplier quality, field returns, and driving corrective and preventive actions to ensure product reliability, compliance, and performance. You Will - Develop, implement, and maintain supplier quality assurance procedures / standards for mechanical parts. - Conduct supplier audits (initial, process, product, and system) and capability assessments. - Collaborate with suppliers on PPAP,AOI, DVP / PVP and APQP submissions and evaluations. - Collaborate with engineering to review drawings, GD&T, and material specifications for manufacturability and quality compliance. - Provide technical guidance to suppliers on casting , forging and machining (e.g., turning, milling, drilling, grinding) processes. - Drive root cause analysis and corrective action implementation for supplier-related quality issues (8D, 5Why, Fishbone, etc.). - Monitor supplier performance using KPIs (PPM, NCRs, etc.) and implement improvement plans as needed. - Review technical drawings, specifications, and material standards to validate supplier compliance. - Support NPI (New Product Introduction) activities by ensuring supplier readiness and quality alignment. - Participate in design and process FMEAs with cross-functional teams. - Ensure compliance with industry standards such as ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or AS9100 (as applicable). - Interface with engineering, procurement, and manufacturing teams to resolve quality issues efficiently. You Must Have - Qualifications: - Education: B.E./B.Tech in Electrical / Mechanical / Mechatronics / Automotive Engineering. - Experience: 37 years in electric motor quality, preferably in PMSM or BLDC motor domain. - Certifications: Six Sigma Green Belt (preferred), Lead Auditor (ISO 9001/IATF 16949). - Required Skills & Competencies: - Strong understanding of PMSM motor construction, function, and failure modes. - Proficient in quality tools: FMEA, Control Plan, MSA, SPC, 8D, 5-Why. - Familiarity with insulation testing, hi-pot, back-EMF, and motor dynamometer testing. - Knowledge of ISO/TS 16949, VDA standards, and reliability validation protocols. - Hands-on experience with electric motor testing equipment and QA software. - Software/Tools/ System Exposure - Minitab, Excel & Power point operation, JIRA & SAP Skills: iso,quality assurance,suppliers,reliability
