Job Description: Manager - Taxation (Direct and Indirect)

Location: Noida Corporate Office

Industry: Sugar and Distillery Business

CTC: ₹12 - ₹16 LPA (Higher remuneration may be considered for deserving candidates)

Position Overview:

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Manager - Taxation (Direct and Indirect) to join our Corporate Office in Noida. The ideal candidate will have expertise in direct and indirect taxation within the manufacturing sector, preferably in the sugar and distillery business. This position will be responsible for managing tax compliance, advisory, planning, and litigation, ensuring that the company's tax obligations are efficiently met.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Direct Taxation:

- Ensure compliance with Income Tax Act, 1961, and other applicable direct tax laws.
- Review and file Income Tax Returns (ITR) for the company.
- Manage tax audits, assessments, and appeals.
- Advise the management on tax planning strategies and identify opportunities for tax optimization.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external consultants to ensure timely tax filings and resolutions.
- Handle Transfer Pricing documentation and compliance.

1. Indirect Taxation:

- Oversee compliance with Goods and Services Tax (GST), Excise Duty, and other applicable indirect tax laws.
- Monitor and manage GST returns and related filings (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GST Annual Return, etc.).
- Ensure timely payments of indirect taxes and maintain proper records as per the statutory requirements.
- Advise the management on indirect tax implications on business transactions, new ventures, and contracts.
- Manage GST audits and assessments, respond to notices, and resolve disputes with the tax authorities.

1. Tax Litigation & Dispute Resolution:

- Represent the company in case of any tax-related disputes before authorities (Income Tax, GST, Excise, etc.).
- Coordinate with tax consultants, legal teams, and authorities for effective resolution of tax-related matters.
- Keep abreast of the latest developments in tax laws and government policies to minimize risks.

1. Tax Planning & Advisory:

- Develop strategies for effective tax planning and risk management.
- Advise management on the tax impact of various business operations, including mergers, acquisitions, and expansions.
- Conduct internal training sessions to enhance the team's understanding of tax laws.

1. Internal Collaboration:

- Work closely with the finance, accounting, and legal teams to ensure smooth operations.
- Collaborate with external consultants and auditors for tax-related matters and audits.
- Provide insights to senior management on tax efficiency and cost optimization.

Skills & Qualifications:

- Education: CA (Chartered Accountant) with 5+ years of relevant experience in taxation, preferably within a manufacturing industry (sugar or distillery sectors).
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in direct and indirect taxation.
- Knowledge:
- In-depth understanding of Income Tax, GST, Excise Duty, and related tax laws.
- Strong working knowledge of tax compliance, tax planning, and legal frameworks.
- Familiarity with the sugar, distillery, and manufacturing industries is preferred.
- Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to handle complex tax issues and develop strategic solutions.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, SAP, and other relevant tax software.
