for a passionate high-energy individual to help build the network that powers the world s largest online services For this position the candidate should be familiar with network protocols network devices including network interface cards switches and routers You should feel comfortable working with large-scale distributed systems in managing the network infrastructure that supports the Azure operations across datacenters and network sites Translate high-level designs into low-level plans and collaborate with internal teams and external partners to expand or modify infrastructure Troubleshoot live site issues using problem management tools e g root cause analysis postmortems and participate in on-call rotations to restore service availability Collaborate across teams to manage network deployments using machine-readable definitions and support innovation through new systems and tools Analyze capacity issues and recommend hardware or network component changes to improve performance working with internal and external stakeholders Perform testing and validation of network devices identify and locate necessary data and guide data center teams on hardware maintenance Evangelize best practices in network engineering participate in postmortems to improve reliability and share knowledge across teams with tailored communication Qualifications Required Minimum Qualifications 5 years technical experience in network design development and automation OR Bachelor s Degree in Electrical Engineering Optical Engineering Computer Science Engineering Information Technology or related field AND 2 years technical experience in network design development and automation OR Master s Degree in Electrical Engineering Optical Engineering Computer Science Information Technology or related field AND 1 year s technical experience in network design development and automation 4 years of experience in the networking Industry or large-scale data center network 1 years experience working with L2 L3 switching platforms application networking and network protocols like BGP ISIS MPLS OSPF VRRP LACP Traffic Engineering Knowledge of Datacenter Design Control plane Data Plane Operations 1 years experience working in large scale data center cloud environment with an understanding of passive components UTP Cabling Optical cabling 1 years experience in one or more programming languages C Java Python Perl Other Qualifications Ability to meet Microsoft customer and or government security screening requirements are required for this role These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings Microsoft Cloud Background Check This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire transfer and every two years thereafter Additional or Preferred Qualifications 8 years technical experience in network design development and automation OR Bachelor s Degree in Electrical Engineering Optical Engineering Computer Science Information Technology OR related field AND 5 years technical experience in network design development and automation OR Master s Degree in Electrical Engineering Optical Engineering Computer Science Information Technology OR related field AND 3 years technical experience in network design development and automation OR Doctorate Degree in Electrical Engineering Optical Engineering Computer Science Information Technology OR related field 1 years experience in understanding and authoring machine readable formats like XML JSON Excellent communication skills and team player with ability to build solid relationships at all levels across teams geographies and business functions Excellent judgment decision-making skills and the ability to work under continual
