Senior Manager – Data Science

Function Digital Information Technologies Pay Band M3 to M5 Role We are seeking a highly experienced and innovative Senior Manager - Data Science to lead a cross-functional team in designing and implementing advanced AI ML solutions across the organization This role will focus on driving technical excellence strategic vision and business impact through cutting-edge data science techniques including Generative AI NLP MLOps and scalable ML platforms The ideal candidate will combine deep technical expertise with strong leadership project management and cross-functional collaboration skills A purpose driven role for you Lead the development and deployment of scalable machine learning models including Generative AI LLMs RAG Prompt Engineering and traditional ML solutions Manage and mentor a team of data scientists ML engineers and AI researchers to deliver high-impact solutions aligned with business objectives Architect and oversee MLOps pipelines using tools such as Azure ML Azure AI Foundry Databricks and MLflow for continuous model development and deployment Drive innovation in Natural Language Processing NLP using OpenAI models LLama models and transformer-based architectures Design and implement user-facing AI applications using Flask Streamlit or Django for internal and external stakeholders Oversee data engineering pipelines and model integration with data warehouses like Snowflake and SQL-based environments Collaborate with product engineering and business stakeholders to identify opportunities define problem statements and translate them into AI ML initiatives Own the model lifecycle from experimentation and evaluation to deployment monitoring and refinement Stay current with the latest AI ML research tools and frameworks to drive innovation and capability enhancement A Day in the life Lead the development and deployment of scalable machine learning models including Generative AI LLMs RAG Prompt Engineering and traditional ML solutions Manage and mentor a team of data scientists ML engineers and AI researchers to deliver high-impact solutions aligned with business objectives Architect and oversee MLOps pipelines using tools such as Azure ML Azure AI Foundry Databricks and MLflow for continuous model development and deployment Drive innovation in Natural Language Processing NLP using OpenAI models LLama models and transformer-based architectures Design and implement user-facing AI applications using Flask Streamlit or Django for internal and external stakeholders Oversee data engineering pipelines and model integration with data warehouses like Snowflake and SQL-based environments Collaborate with product engineering and business stakeholders to identify opportunities define problem statements and translate them into AI ML initiatives Own the model lifecycle from experimentation and evaluation to deployment monitoring and refinement Stay current with the latest AI ML research tools and frameworks to drive innovation and capability enhancement Academic Qualification Experience 8 years of experience in data science with at least 3 years in a managerial role Experience working with large-scale systems distributed computing and big data technologies Familiarity with ethical AI principles bias detection and responsible AI practices Certifications in Azure Data Science or MLOps are a Technical Skills Knowledge Programming Languages Expert in Python familiarity with other languages a plus Machine Learning Supervised unsupervised learning model selection hyperparameter tuning model interpretability Natural Language Processing NLP Tokenization embeddings LLMs sentiment analysis text summarization Q A systems Generative AI Experience with OpenAI LLama Retrieval-Augmented Generation RAG fine-tuning and prompt engineering MLOps Platforms Strong experience with Azure ML Azure AI Foundry MLflow Databricks Data Engineering Storage SQL Snowflake Delta Lake data wrangling with Pandas PySpark Web Frameworks Flask Streamlit Django -
