Job Description of Senior Quality Assurance Engineer Senior Quality Assurance Engineers at Prospecta ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of Prospecta’s MDO Solutions. They play a key role in designing and executing testing strategies that align with industry best practices and feedback from our customers. Given that MDO Solutions are diverse and multi-domain , these engineers work across domains and industries (business processes & master data) to ensure high-quality, value-added solutions for our clients. Key Responsibilities Create and Document Test Cases: Develop comprehensive test cases that encompass functional, regression, and performance testing elements, ensuring alignment with project specifications and objectives. Execute and Automate Testing: Carry out test cases manually and implement automated test scripts using relevant tools to identify, document, and monitor defects. Analyze Defect Trends: Evaluate and interpret trends in defect occurrences to guide quality improvement efforts. Conduct Performance Testing: Perform load, stress, and spike testing to assess the software’s behavior under various conditions. Prepare Metrics and Reports: Generate detailed metrics and reports that offer insights into the quality of the software and the status of testing activities. Conduct Regression Testing: Regularly perform regression testing to confirm that new features and updates do not compromise existing functionality. Collaborate with Development Teams: Partner with development teams to gain a clear understanding of software requirements and ensure thorough test coverage. Engage with Cross-Functional Teams: Work with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues and ensure prompt and effective solutions. Drive Quality Process Improvements: Contribute to initiatives aimed at enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the quality assurance processes. Stay Current on Industry Practices: Keep informed about the latest best practices and trends in software testing. Communicate Progress Effectively: Maintain clear communication with team members and project stakeholders regarding testing progress, issues, and potential risks. Participate in Team Meetings: Take part in team meetings to provide insights, collaborate on project objectives, and align on goals. Must-Have Skills: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Electronics and Communication, Mechatronics, or related fields. Advanced degrees or relevant certifications, such as ISTQB, are plus. Proficiency in programming languages such as Java. Experience with test automation tools and frameworks, including Selenium, TestNG, and JUnit. Competency in database querying using SQL and data validation techniques. Familiarity with version control systems like Git and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes. Understanding of project management and issue tracking tools, such as JIRA. Knowledge of Master Data Management (MDM) concepts and data governance principles. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Exceptional attention to detail with a dedication to delivering high-quality outcomes. Effective communication and collaboration skills.
