Job Description Market Research Specialist Forecast and Market Share (F&MS) About this role: This is a unique opportunity for a convergent thinker with strong numeracy skills to make a significant impact on Gartner's clients as part of the Market Share team within the Forecast and Market Share (F&MS) group in the High Tech and Invest (HTI) practice. As a Market Research Specialist, you will focus on analyzing vendor trends and creating actionable vendor insights. Through quantitative research, you'll help high-tech clients identify growth opportunities, understand technology trends, and navigate evolving market dynamics. What will you do: - Contribute to Gartner's Market Share data and analysis by delivering vendor revenue positions through: - Vendor Insights: Assess trends related to revenue performance, growth rates, and key strategic developments such as mergers and acquisitions, geographic expansion, and other critical business moves. - Market Insights: Analyze supply and demand dynamics, macroeconomic indicators, and regulatory factors influencing technology markets. - Apply Gartner estimation methodology and modeling of vendor revenue at segment, region/country and industry vertical levels. - Contribute to Gartner Forecast data and analysis by assisting in forecast assumptions and storylines by conducting research on influencing factors that impact end-user buying behavior and on IT vendors evolving business models, competitive environment, etc. - Contribute to key deliverables other than market share and forecast, including Competitive Dynamics, Opportunity Analysis, Impact Radar, First-take content, etc. - Develop insights in the AI space by analyzing competitive dynamics among vendors, with a focus on evolving products, business models, and strategic advancements in the AI race. - Build knowledge on all internal and external data assets and enable the team to leverage these assets for innovative data-driven deliverables. - Leverage and enable continuous evolution of GenAI usage in research deliverables to increase efficiency and strengthen the quality of output. - Actively support and drive process improvement initiatives within the team by streamlining workflows and contributing to the implementation of best practices. - Communicate and collaborate with SMEs (subject-matter experts), F&MS team members and other Gartner colleagues on publications and initiatives. What will you need: Professional Qualifications And Experience - BE/B.Tech + MBA with 0-2 years of work experience, or - Graduate + MBA from leading Tier I & II - B-schools, or - Post-graduates/graduates with IT, Maths, Statistics, Finance and Economics background (B.Sc./BBA/ B.A. Economics/B.Com) - Experience in technology research and a keen interest in IT markets are a plus Key attributes - Highly numerate with excellent critical thinking skills. Must be able to quickly grasp and articulate the fundamentals of a market and demand & growth drivers - Understanding of key technology and macroeconomic trends - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Working knowledge of databases such as Factiva, Capital IQ, Crunchbase, and data visualization tools (Power BI, advanced excel etc.) is a plus - Knowledge of conducting structured research leveraging GenAI tools is a plus - Strong sense of ownership and a can do attitude.
