Responsibilities Maintenance management Lead and manage the mechanical maintenance team to execute preventive and predictive maintenance schedules ensuring the availability and reliability of all plant machinery including conveyors balers shredders and other segregation equipment Troubleshooting and repair Oversee troubleshooting and repair activities for mechanical breakdowns analyzing root causes to minimize downtime and prevent recurrence Safety and compliance Ensure the team adheres to all safety protocols and regulations for maintenance work Lead accident investigations and implement corrective actions to eliminate hazards Spare parts and inventory management Plan for and manage the inventory of spare parts and consumables for all mechanical equipment Coordinate with the purchase department to procure necessary materials Team development Supervise train and appraise the performance of mechanical technicians and engineers to ensure they are skilled and knowledgeable Reporting Maintain accurate records and prepare daily weekly and monthly reports on equipment performance breakdowns and maintenance activities Qualifications Education Bachelor s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field Experience 5-8 years of experience in mechanical maintenance with a focus on heavy machinery or plant operations preferably in the metals mining or recycling industry Skills Strong knowledge of hydraulics pneumatics and manufacturing systems Experience with a CMMS Computerized Maintenance Management System or SAP is a plus Certifications Professional certification in maintenance or reliability engineering is advantageous
