Job Description Key Responsibilities: Database Design & Migration: - Design and implement Informix database upgrades and migrations (XPS to IDS, old versions to new versions). - Rewrite SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and views for improved efficiency. - Conduct database schema design and optimization. Performance & Optimization: - Perform database performance tuning and health checks. - Implement query optimization strategies and monitor database performance. - Apply CDC (Change Data Capture) concepts effectively. Database Administration & Maintenance: - Install and configure Informix products including 4GL Tools, Informix Server, and Informix Client SDK. - Manage Informix HDR, ER, CM, RSS, and SDS setups. - Perform Informix backups using ontape and onbar. Automation & Scripting: - Develop automation scripts using Python and AI for database operations and maintenance tasks. Optional / Nice-to-Have Skills: - Experience with Informix replication (ER) and clustering solutions (HDR, SDS, RSS). - Work on Informix deployment in cloud platforms like Azure, AWS, or IBM Cloud OCP. - Knowledge of other RDBMS systems (DB2, Oracle, SQL Server) for migrations. - Familiarity with Informix datablades such as Timeseries and Geo Spatial. Qualifications & Experience: - 5-9 years of experience in Informix database administration and development. - Strong hands-on experience with Informix IDS, XPS, 4GL, and ESQLC. - Experience in database upgrades, migrations, performance tuning, and query optimization.
