Title: Procurement & Inventory Specialist

Department: Production

Location: Hyderabad

Reports To: Operations Manager

Job Description:

The Manager – Procurement & Inventory Management will own the end-to-end sourcing, purchasing, and inventory-control processes that ensure our production unit has the right materials, at the right time, and at the right cost. This role will collaborate closely with design, production, quality, and finance teams to optimize stock levels, streamline supplier relationships, and drive cost efficiencies.

Responsibilities:

- Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable suppliers for fabrics, trims, accessories, and packaging.
- Negotiate prices, lead times, payment terms, and quality standards with vendors.
- Monitor supplier performance (quality, delivery, compliance) and conduct regular reviews.
- Procurement Planning & Execution
- Translate production forecasts into accurate material purchase plans.
- Issue purchase orders, track order acknowledgments, and ensure on-time delivery.
- Resolve discrepancies in orders, invoices, and deliveries in coordination with suppliers and warehouse teams.
- Inventory Control & Optimization
- Maintain optimal stock levels & safety-stock calculations.
- Implement and oversee cycle counts, stock reconciliations, and monthly reporting.
- Leverage ERP or inventory-management software to monitor KPIs (turnover, days of inventory, stock-out rates).
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with design and production teams to forecast material requirements for upcoming collections.
- Work with quality control to handle non-conformances, returns, or supplier corrective actions.
- Coordinate with logistics for inbound shipments and with finance on payment schedules.
- Continuous Improvement & Cost Control
- Analyze procurement spend and identify opportunities for volume discounts, consolidation, or alternate sourcing.
- Develop and refine standard operating procedures (SOPs) for procurement and inventory activities.
- Lead periodic audits to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.

Qualification:

- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Fashion Merchandising, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience in procurement and inventory management—preferably within a fashion or apparel manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of material sourcing for fabrics, trims, and accessories.
- Proficiency in ERP/inventory-management systems.
