Job Description Job Title: CAD Engineer - BIW Structure Job Description We are seeking an expert CAD Engineer specializing in Body in White (BIW) structures. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a high level of proficiency in using CATIA and Dassault Systems 3DExperience (3DX) platforms, specifically within BIW design modules. This role requires an individual with extensive experience in a variety of CAD modeling techniques and a strong understanding of product structure principles. Responsibilities - Utilize expert-level proficiency in CATIA and Dassault Systems 3DExperience (3DX) for BIW design. - Apply advanced CAD modeling techniques, including solid, surface, assembly modeling, and sheet metal design for BIW components. - Conduct BIW CAD assembly decomposition, restructuring, and block generation, including creating assembly exploded views. - Implement product structure principles within CAD environments for complex BIW assemblies. - Create detailed technical drawings from CAD models, incorporating Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) for BIW components. - Manage positional variabilities in CAD models for effective variant management in BIW. - Compile and manage complex variant data using tools like Microsoft Excel. - Evaluate complex BIW CAD structures and their relationship to product features, options, and critical performance attributes such as crash and NVH. - Maintain excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. - Work effectively in a structured, sequential workflow. Essential Skills - Expert-level proficiency in CATIA and Dassault Systems 3DExperience (3DX) platforms. - Extensive experience in BIW design modules. - Strong understanding of product structure principles for complex BIW assemblies. - Proficiency in creating technical drawings with GD&T for BIW components. - Analytical skills to evaluate BIW CAD structures and their performance attributes. Additional Skills & Qualifications - Experience in advanced surface, solid, and sheet metal systems. - Proficiency in managing variant data using Microsoft Excel. Work Environment The work environment is structured and sequential, requiring effective collaboration and attention to detail. The role involves the use of advanced CAD software tools and necessitates a strong understanding of BIW structural design principles.
