Lead Engineer – Full Stack What the role is all about: We are seeking a Lead Engineer (5-8 years’ experience), who is passionate about full stack development and possibly has had experience working with headless CMS solutions. You will be working collaboratively with our product, design and technical team members to help deliver and support the systems that power REA's News & Lifestyle section - a key traffic driver to our core experience This is your chance to work on impactful projects that drive customer satisfaction and company growth. You'll work with cutting-edge technologies alongside talented individuals across the globe from diverse backgrounds, fostering a dynamic and collaborative environment. While no two days are likely to be the same, your typical responsibilities will include: - Collaborate closely with a variety of teammates to build features, brainstorm design concepts, and develop interactive prototypes. - Work within value-driven teams to craft innovative customer experiences. - Foster a well-connected and knowledgeable team by sharing knowledge through sessions, mentoring other team members, and contributing to the technical roadmap. - Work towards shared team goals and contribute to successful project delivery. - Collaborate with team leads to define, advocate and embody best practices within the team like writing clean and reusable code using TDD, pair programming, and design patterns. - Actively participate in pairing, code reviews, unit testing, and secure deployments to deliver secure and quality code. - Stay updated on the latest web development trends and apply them to solve complex challenges. - Take ownership and accountability of deliverables. - Mentor other team members. Who we are looking for: - Proven ability to handle both front-end and back-end development tasks - Proficiency in two or more of the following - JavaScript, TypeScript, React, and Node.js or (Java/Kotlin/Scala) as well as HTML / CSS - Experience working with RESTful and GraphQL APIs - Experience with dev-ops tools and techniques, particularly Docker, Git, AWS/GCP and CI/CD. - Open and adaptable when it comes to learning new technologies, frameworks or tools that align with our direction, such as AI/Agents - Comfortable working in agile environments, handling shifting priorities and delivering iteratively. - Demonstrates initiative, takes ownership of tasks, and manages time effectively.
