JOB DESCRIPTION Position Project Engineer - Mechanical Design Team Division EES EITC - Chennai Bangalore Design mechanical layouts for electrical panels including mounting arrangements enclosure sizing and thermal management Create detailed 2D drawings and 3D cad models Create GA drawings for various panel and enclosures Ensure designs comply with relevant standards e g AS NSZ IEC NEMA NFPA etc Collaborate with electrical engineers to optimize space and ensure proper component placement and wiring paths Select appropriate materials and hardware for enclosures mounting and environmental protection IP NEMA ratings Design airflow planning to prevent overheating and ensure long-term reliability Prepare and maintain Bill of Materials BOMs mechanical drawings and manufacturing documentation Skid based electrical system concept design and detailing working with FEA team to conduct various lifting case analysis for structural stability study Provide support to production and fabrication teams during prototype builds and manufacturing Participate in design reviews and support continuous improvement initiatives Experience Requirements Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in mechanical design related to electrical panels or enclosures Education Bachelor s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field Knowledge Requirement Proficiency in Creo software Experience in PLM tools like Teamcenter Knowledge of GD T principles and Tolerance stack up analysis Understanding of electrical component layout thermal management and mechanical manufacturing processes Familiarity with industry standards and codes AS NZS UL IEC NEMA NFPA Proficient in design calculations Knowledge of Sheet metal welding processes and experience of applying that to design Knowledge of wire routing harness design and electromagnetic shielding Exposure to design for manufacturing DFM and design for assembly DFA principles Experience working in an ISO-certified environment Personality Requirement Excellent communication and teamwork abilities Enthusiastic positive minded and able to work well in an international client environment Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Epiroc is a global leader in providing innovative equipment tools and services for the mining and construction industries Our commitment to sustainability and electrification drives our mission to create a cleaner more efficient future If you re passionate about shaping the future of battery systems and want to be part of a dynamic team we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity It all starts with people The world needs metals and minerals for the energy transition and our cities and infrastructure must be developed to serve a growing population To succeed we need to speed up the shift towards more sustainable mining and construction industries We at Epiroc accelerate this transformation together with customers and business partners in more than 150 countries by developing and providing innovative and safe equipment digital solutions and aftermarket support All new thinkers are welcome We are looking for those who want to develop grow and dare to think new In Epiroc we attract develop and retain diverse talent valuing authenticity and unique perspectives driving our spirit of innovation We foster an inclusive culture where diversity isn t just a goal but a part of our values and way of working This is how we do business for a sustainable future Learn more at
