Global Payroll Specialist

At Thoughtworks we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our Global Payroll team As a Global Payroll Specialist you will be responsible for making sure employees are paid accurately and on time managing payroll functions in agreement with local payroll service providers validating inputs and final employee paychecks withholding taxes and any other deductions as well as maintaining accurate payroll records for internal and external team governments and local complianceJob responsibilitiesEnsures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires terminations and changes to pay rates Upstream retrieval of data from multiple sources Such as HR system Shared Services local business inputs equity and mobility or an external source Ensure quality identification of data gaps and human processing errors Validation of payroll calculation of wages benefits tax deductions commissions etc Preparing and processing paychecks for mobile employees especially when gross-ups of tax are involved Downstream funding reporting and query management Entering data into payroll and administrative databases and software programs Maintaining payout information and resolving any discrepancies Ensuring Statutory compliance by following policies and procedures Timely Registration on payments impacting compliance such as salary Full and Final Payment social security and union contributions is forwarded to Accounts and payments made within a specified time Ensure that the vendor adheres to the promised quality and timeliness as per The SLA Service Level Agreement and staying up to date with changes in respective payroll regulations and ensuring compliance Preparing payroll funding reports for Finance team review and approval Coordinating with other departments such as HR and Finance to ensure seamless payroll processing Collaborating with external stakeholders such as auditors and tax authorities on payroll-related matters Payroll COE - 30 Ability to handle multiple country payrolls and be proactive in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities Continuous process improvement Working closely with Payroll Vendors Financial controllers Equity and GLOMO Job qualificationsTechnical SkillsAt least 4 years of experience in payroll processing or a related field Spain Romania Payroll understanding is a must Extensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation balancing internal control payroll taxes and compliance with government regulations Strong understanding of payroll systems payroll statutory earnings and deduction codes and GL mapping Knowledge of ESPP STOCK RSU and Payroll Accounting is a plus Proficient with Workday and Vendor provided tools software Basics of audit Documentation record keeping skills Professional skills Well-developed communication skills with the ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with a range of stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes Well-developed planning and organizational skills including the ability to complete tasks within set time frames Strong analytical and problem-solving skill Other things to knowLearning DevelopmentThere is no single career path that fits everyone at Thoughtworks how you want to develop your career is completely up to you But we balance autonomy with the strength of our cultivation culture That means your career is supported by interactive tools a variety of development programs and many colleagues who want to help you grow We see value in helping each other be our best and this extends to empowering our female employees on their career journeys Shift timings Please note the shift timings are from 1 00 PM - 8 00 PM This will be a usual 8-hour shiftJob DetailsCountry India City Bangalore Date Posted 06-24-2024 Industry Information Technology Employment Type RegularAbout ThoughtworksThoughtworks is a global technology consultancy that integrates strategy design and engineering to drive digital innovation For over 30 years our clients have trusted our autonomous teams to build solutions that look past the obvious Here computer science grads come together with seasoned technologists self-taught developers midlife career changers and more to learn from and challenge each other Career journeys flourish with the strength of our cultivation culture which has won numerous awards around the world Join Thoughtworks and thrive Together our extra curiosity innovation passion and dedication overcomes ordinary Thoughtworks
