Role Title: Quality Engineer – Web & Functional Testing Position Summary: Marriott International is seeking a meticulous and experienced Quality Engineer to join our Hotel Websites (HWS) team within IT Application Development. This role is ideal for a QA professional with a strong background in web application testing, functional validation, cross-browser compatibility, and cross-locale/language testing. You will be instrumental in ensuring the quality and reliability of Marriott’s global hotel websites, delivering seamless digital experiences to guests across regions and languages. Job Responsibilities: - Design, develop, and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts for web-based applications and services. - Perform functional, regression, integration, system, and end-to-end testing across desktop and mobile platforms. - Validate UI/UX consistency, responsiveness, and accessibility across multiple browsers, devices, and screen sizes. - Conduct cross-locale and multilingual testing to ensure content accuracy, layout integrity, and functionality across different languages and regions. - Collaborate with developers, product owners, and DevOps teams to identify defects early and ensure smooth releases. - Conduct API testing using tools like Postman, REST Assured, or similar. - Build and maintain automated test suites using tools such as Selenium, or Playwright. - Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives. - Monitor application performance and conduct load, stress, and security testing as needed. - Document and report defects with clear reproduction steps and severity assessments. - Track and communicate quality metrics, test coverage, and release readiness to stakeholders. - Ensure compliance with Marriott’s QA standards, accessibility guidelines, and security protocols. - Support UAT (User Acceptance Testing) and coordinate with business stakeholders for sign-off. - Maintain test environments and manage test data for various scenarios. - Continuously improve QA processes, tools, and documentation to enhance team efficiency. - Stay current with industry trends, tools, and best practices in software testing and quality assurance. Required Qualifications: - 3+ years of experience in software quality assurance or testing roles. - Strong understanding of web technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and browser dev tools. - Hands-on experience with functional testing of web applications and APIs. - Familiarity with test automation frameworks and scripting. - Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and using tools like Jira, Confluence, or Azure DevOps. - Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills. - Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with performance and load testing tools - Knowledge of accessibility testing standards (e.g., WCAG, ADA compliance). Education and Certifications: - Graduate degree in an engineering or computer science discipline and/or equivalent experience/certification Work location: Hyderabad, India.
