Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Water Structure Design Engineer with over 7 years of expertise in water supply projects. The role involves the design and development of water-related structures such as reservoirs, intake structures, pumping stations, treatment plants, and distribution systems. The candidate will be responsible for delivering efficient, sustainable, and cost-effective design solutions in alignment with project requirements, codes, and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Design of water supply structures including intake wells, storage reservoirs, treatment plants, pumping stations, distribution networks, and related infrastructure.
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings, design calculations, hydraulic modeling, and technical specifications.
- Conduct feasibility studies, site investigations, and design reviews for water supply projects.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (civil, mechanical, electrical, and environmental engineers) for integrated project delivery.
- Ensure compliance with relevant design codes, standards, and local regulations.
- Review and approve shop drawings, vendor designs, and material submittals.
- Support project execution by providing technical guidance during construction and resolving design-related issues.
- Prepare design reports, BOQs (Bill of Quantities), cost estimates, and tender documents.
- Utilize design and modeling software such as WaterGEMS, EPANET, AutoCAD, STAAD, and Civil 3D.
- Ensure sustainability, safety, and quality in design solutions.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred).
- 7+ years of proven experience in water supply and water structure design.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic and structural design principles for water infrastructure.
- Proficiency in design software (WaterGEMS, EPANET, STAAD, Civil 3D, AutoCAD, etc.).
- Familiarity with international and local design codes (IS, AWWA, BS, or equivalent).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Strong communication and coordination abilities.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with large-scale municipal water supply projects.
- Exposure to design of sewerage and stormwater structures will be an added advantage.
- Previous involvement in EPC/PMC/Consultancy assignments.
