Job Brief
We are looking for a detail-oriented and hands-on Electrical Hardware Engineer who can take ownership of wiring, soldering, and electrical integration activities while managing multiple projects in the test equipment domain. You will be responsible for converting electrical designs into reliable, production-ready hardware, ensuring quality, safety, and timely project delivery.
On a daily basis, you will be involved in reading and interpreting wiring diagrams, assembling harnesses, performing high-quality soldering, routing cables, integrating electrical components, and coordinating project execution with cross-functional teams. You will also manage timelines, material procurement follow-ups, and on-floor assembly schedules.
Ultimately, you will ensure our test equipment and fixtures are electrically robust, compliant with quality standards, and delivered on time to customers.
Responsibilities
- Review electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and BOMs to plan assembly work.
- Perform high-quality soldering (through-hole & SMD) and harness building as per industry standards (IPC preferred).
- Carry out wiring and integration of components such as relays, switches, connectors, sensors, and power supplies into test fixtures and systems.
- Ensure proper wire routing, labeling, and cable management for durability and serviceability.
- Inspect and test wiring assemblies for continuity, insulation, and compliance to standards.
- Coordinate with design engineers to resolve wiring-related issues during assembly.
- Plan project timelines, track progress, and manage task allocation for wiring-related activities.
- Liaise with purchase and stores for material availability and ensure timely delivery to meet project schedules.
- Maintain documentation for wiring work, inspection checklists, and project progress.
- Adhere to ESD, electrical safety, and workmanship standards throughout the build process.
Primary Requirements
- Strong knowledge of electrical wiring, soldering techniques, and harness fabrication.
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and assembly drawings.
- Familiarity with test and measuring instruments (multimeter, continuity tester, etc.).
- Understanding of electrical safety practices and ESD handling.
- Good project coordination skills – able to plan, track, and deliver within deadlines.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for wiring and component-level issues.
- Good communication skills to work with cross-functional teams and suppliers.
- Proficiency in documentation and maintaining build records.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of IPC standards (IPC-620, IPC-610).
- Familiarity with panel wiring, control cabinet assembly, or test fixture assembly.
- Basic understanding of PLC wiring, I/O mapping, or control systems.
- Exposure to test equipment assembly in manufacturing/automation industries.
