The driving force behind our success has always been the people of AspenTech What drives us is our aspiration our desire and ambition to keep pushing the envelope overcoming any hurdle challenging the status quo to continually find a better way You will experience these qualities of passion pride and aspiration in many ways from a rich set of career development programs to support of community service projects to social events that foster fun and relationship building across our global community The Role AspenTech is looking for an experienced Technical Writer to join our Digital Grid Management product documentation team In this role you will use your passion for communication to help translate complex technical concepts into comprehensive user-centric content that is easy to understand You will work collaboratively with other technical writers and development teams to ensure DGM customers have all the information needed to effectively use our industry-leading products Specific on-the-job training will be provided Your Impact Research write and edit documentation such as configuration guides user s guides and other related technical materials Develop an in-depth understanding of products to efficiently manage and deliver complex software documentation that meets the needs of the target audience Work closely with development teams subject matter experts and internal stakeholders to continually improve documentation Utilize ticket tracking system to ensure tasks stay on track and deadlines are met Apply design and style guides to existing documentation to ensure consistent look and feel across documentation library What You ll Need Bachelor s degree in Technical Professional Writing English Engineering Computer Science or a related technical field 2 years of experience in developing software or technical documentation Thorough understanding of how to translate complex information into concise easy-to-follow instructions Aptitude for technology Automation and IT Software applications Comfortable working at both the high level and detail level must be result process and quality oriented Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple priorities remaining flexible and effective in a fast-paced environment Excellent writing communication organizational and interpersonal skills Exposure to documentation authoring software like MadCap Flare preferred Knowledge of HTML and web publishing preferred Understanding of Agile methodology preferred Familiarity with project management tools such as Jira and Jama preferred LI-RR1
