Position Overview The Helper – Herbal Product Manufacturing plays a crucial support role in the day-to-day operations of the manufacturing facility. This position involves working in different sections of the production unit, assisting in the manufacturing of herbal and ayurvedic products such as ointments, creams, liquid orals, and other formulations. The role also includes dispensing raw materials, handling packing materials, loading and unloading goods, and maintaining hygiene and discipline in the workplace. The Helper will follow the instructions of supervisors and work under the guidance of skilled workers and production staff. This is an essential position that supports both production efficiency and quality control across various manufacturing sections.Key Responsibilities1. Production Assistance Assist in the manufacturing processes of various herbal and ayurvedic formulations, including: Creams and Ointments Liquid Orals (Syrups, Tonics) Powdered Supplements and Capsules Operate or support operations of basic manufacturing equipment under supervision. Measure, weigh, and assist in dispensing of raw materials and ingredients as per batch instructions or supervisor directions. Maintain accuracy while following formulations to avoid wastage or batch rejection. 2. Packing and Material Handling Support in primary and secondary packing activities like: Bottle filling and capping Tube filling Carton packing Labeling and sealing Assist in the cleaning, drying, and arrangement of packing materials like bottles, cartons, caps, foil, etc. Ensure proper handling and storage of packing materials before and after use. Help in moving materials from storage to the production area or vice versa as instructed. 3. Loading and Unloading Load finished goods, raw materials, and packing materials on transport vehicles carefully. Unload incoming raw materials and supplies, and place them in designated storage areas. Maintain caution during material movement to prevent breakage or product damage. Use lifting trolleys or manual effort as per safety instructions for loading/unloading. 4. Dispensing and Cleaning Duties Accurately dispense raw materials and excipients under the supervision of the store or production executive. Clean utensils, containers, machines, and production areas before and after use. Ensure that all dispensing activities are done with proper measurement and care to avoid contamination. Maintain workplace cleanliness, especially in production and storage zones. 5. Compliance and Hygiene Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Wear prescribed personal protective equipment (PPE) like gloves, mask, cap, and apron during working hours. Maintain personal hygiene, including clean nails, hands, and uniform as required in pharma/herbal manufacturing. Inform supervisors about any spills, contamination, or safety hazards immediately.Skills and Competencies Required Physical Stamina: Able to stand for long periods and perform manual tasks like lifting, carrying, or packing. Teamwork: Ability to work cooperatively with other helpers, machine operators, supervisors, and quality staff. Attention to Detail: Ensuring accurate dispensing, proper labeling, and correct packing practices. Discipline: Follow instructions properly, maintain cleanliness, and adhere to production schedules. Basic Numeracy: Should be able to understand basic measurements (grams, liters, etc.) and count quantities correctly.
