We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Manager - Finance Operations Business: Finance Principal Responsibilities - Deliver FTP projects on a regional or global basis as the situation demands - Act as business analysts in project delivery - Support the technical requirement and delivery of product system interface with FTP while ensuring adequate documentation and sign off on proposed design - Define product system accounting in FTP and ensure consistent presentation of ledger data on Global Operating Chart of Account (GOCA) - Support FTP data sourcing and ensure Finance data requirements are met in FTP and for the downstream systems like Finance Cloud Applications - Accountable for interface design, FTP accounting rules and data attributes transformation rules - Support design & delivery of Group Financial Reporting solution to ensure reporting requirements are met - Formulate test strategy while taking into consideration impact on both FTP inbound and downstream systems/processes - Analyse quarterly Group Financial Reporting change impact to FTP accounting, data sourcing & global reporting rules - Adopt a collaborative approach to working with other teams across organisation boundaries - Ensure adequate controls are in place, documented and evidenced by the team - Effective communication within the team and with relevant Business stakeholders - Develop understanding of Group Operation Chart of Accounts, Group Reporting Chart of Accounts and data elements critical for reporting in Finance - Develop understanding of HSBC product, associated business scenarios, systems where these products are booked and data flow between systems - Work flexibly in a fast moving, agile and changing project environment, continually assessing priorities, progress, dependencies, issues, and risks, and adjusting course or escalating where necessary. - The jobholder will also continually reassess the operational risks associated with the role and inherent in the business, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, management restructurings, and the impact of new technology. Qualifications - Professional Accounting qualifications preferably CA / ACCA / CPA - Overall 3+ years of relevant working experience within Finance functions in the Financial Services industry - Understanding of HSBC/Banking product systems and its data requirements for Finance - Experience of ascertaining, defining and constructing Business Requirement documentation - Experience in managing accounting rules in general ledger systems in preferred - Fair knowledge of Finance systems, including GL Systems is required - Strong analytical skills - Experience in Financial Reporting is desirable - Demonstrate the ability to work with people at all levels - Proven experience in resolving complex problems and to understand issues quickly - Proven ability in managing a diverse group of stakeholders across Global Finance, Site Finance and IT - Project experience is preferred - Able to work under changing environment and under pressure - Strong communication skills and an ability to communicate complex ideas in a simple manner to a global audience - Excellent planning and organizational skills with ability to adapt to changing situations - Willing to work with colleagues in other areas/ time zones where appropriate What additional skills will be good to have - Knowledge of Finance Ledger functionalities - Understanding of Operating Chart of Accounts, Reporting Chart of Accounts & Finance data models - Understanding of finance processes consuming Finance Ledger data - Experience in working in a global environment and dealing with stakeholder across geographies You'll achieve more at HSBC HSBC is an equal opportunity employer committed to building a culture where all employees are valued, respected and opinions count.
