Our client is bidding for work on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail MAHSR and they are seeking suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the role of Chief Expert-Signalling System This bid will close in October 2025 and the work is expected to start around March 2026 Location Mumbai Ahmedabad Surat Background The Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail MAHSR corridor spans approximately 508 km with 12 planned stations between Mumbai and Sabarmati along with three major depots The system will be operated using ETCS Level 2 with the main Operational Control Centre OCC at Sabarmati and a functional OCC at Surat Depot later serving as a Backup Control Centre BCC for redundancy and training The Consultant is responsible for full compliance with ETCS Level 2 specifications including subsystem verification balises RBCs LEUs and onboard units in line with ERA TSI standards validation of configuration data for trackside and onboard components and ensuring traceability across version-controlled records Additional responsibilities include participation in closed-loop testing of ETCS components covering radio communication balise integrity and fallback scenarios including STM interfacing if relevant In case the OCC is inoperable centralized control will be shifted to the BCC Indigenous rolling stock with a maximum operational speed of 249 kmph and design speed of 280 kmph is being developed by ICF Chennai and will be tested on the corridor which has been designed for a maximum speed of 350 kmph and intended to operate progressively up to 320 kmph as designated rolling stock becomes available Job Requirements - Expert Type International - Total Experience Requirement Overall 25 years in Infrastructure Projects - Relevant Experience Requirement Minimum 15 years in Signalling High-Speed ETCS with 250kmph Semi High-Speed Rail i e Urban Suburban Intercity Regional Passenger Transit Systems projects with operational speed equal or greater than 160 Kmph - Specific Experience Requirement Minimum 5 years as in-charge ETCS Signalling High-Speed Rail 250 kmph - Rail-based Transit System project s shall mean High-Speed Railways Semi High-Speed Railways Metro Railways projects as defined below High-Speed Railways projects ETCS based Operational speed equal or greater than 250 Kmph shall only be considered for evaluation Semi High-Speed Railways Urban Suburban Intercity Regional Passenger Transit Systems Projects with operational speed equal to or greater than 160 Kmph shall only be considered for evaluation Copies of relevant degree certificates must be enclosed with the CV to verify compliance with the minimum qualification criteria Work experience as in-charge shall mean experience as the Leader Head Chief Senior Principal Engineer or as the Dy Lead Dy Head Dy Chief Principal Engineer for the specific discipline domain as required against the position
