Develop and maintain standards for database builds database security patching high availability and disaster recovery - Monitor and configure database resources to ensure optimum performance - Handle database procedures such as backup restore and database version upgrades - Undertake maintenance and upgrade tasks generally out of normal business hours including weekends - Provide database design support to development projects - Undertake database performance tuning and diagnostics - Assist platform administrators as necessary to support applications that use our databases - Provide support shift cover and be available for on-call service - Seek and implement opportunities for automating manual database management tasks - Evaluate and implement strategies to align to IT security policies ESSENTIAL SKILLS - Experience of supporting business critical applications in a multi data center environment - Sybase ASE 15 0 3 - 16 0 - Sybase IQ 15 3 - 16 1 - Sybase Replication Server - Sybase Direct Connect - PostgreSQL Database Administration - SQL Server Database Administration - Database Infrastructure installs upgrades and patching - Database high availability and disaster recovery strategies - Experience of supporting databases in a Cloud environment - Automation of database administration tasks - Experience of using DevOps tools -
