The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with industrial electrical systems, maintenance of machines, and panel wiring, with knowledge of both electrical and mechanical components.Key Responsibilities:1. Installation and Wiring: Install electrical wiring, conduits, panels, and fixtures according to industrial standards and blueprints. Set up and connect industrial machinery and equipment to power sources, control systems, and safety devices. Assemble and mount electrical components, including circuit breakers, transformers, switches, motors, and generators. Install and program programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and other automation equipment as required. 2. Maintenance and Repair: Perform regular inspection, testing, and maintenance of electrical systems and machinery to prevent faults and failures. Diagnose electrical malfunctions by using testing devices such as voltmeters, ohmmeters, and oscilloscopes. Troubleshoot and repair wiring, control circuits, switchgear, lighting systems, and other electrical components. Replace or upgrade outdated or faulty electrical parts to enhance safety and performance. 3. Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to electrical safety codes, standards, and regulations such as OSHA and NFPA 70E. Identify potential hazards and implement corrective measures to ensure a safe working environment. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) appropriately and follow lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures during maintenance. Conduct safety audits and participate in safety training programs. 4. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections. Prepare detailed reports on electrical system conditions, repair work, and equipment performance. Update wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, and equipment manuals as changes are made. Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to supervisors and maintenance teams. 5. Collaboration and Support: Work closely with maintenance engineers, production supervisors, and other tradespersons to coordinate repair and installation tasks. Assist in planning and executing shutdowns or downtime periods to carry out major electrical work. Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to optimize electrical systems and reduce energy consumption. Technical Skills: Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals. Skilled in using hand and power tools, diagnostic instruments, and electrical test equipment. Knowledge of electrical systems including AC/DC motors, transformers, circuit breakers, relays, and PLCs. Familiarity with industrial control systems, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and SCADA systems. Basic computer skills for data entry and using maintenance management software. Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving skills and analytical thinking. Attention to detail and precision in workmanship. Ability to work independently or as part of a team. Good communication skills to interact with supervisors and team members.
