Position Accident and Emergency Unit A E - Staff Nurse Responsibility Band Location s Mumbai Reporting To Administrative Reporting to Functional Sister In Charge- A E Job Purpose An accident and emergency nurse has to assess patients coming to the A E promptly and provide emergency services to patients as per their need Principal Duties Responsibilities To check inventory of various equipment s and medication in A E department To take charge from the previous shift staff nurse To attend the patients and ensure the comfort and stability of patients if any complaints To meet the patients needs in prompt and efficient manner To receive the patients in the department attend the patients immediately and perform a quick assessment To carry out the given order by the EMO Secure IV peripheral lines and collect blood samples for various investigations To send samples to the lab for various investigations by the housekeeping staffs To obtain ECG To administer medications IV therapy to the patients To send patients to various other departments for investigation To write nurses notes To prepare casualty charge sheet in HIS and receive vouchers and then discharging the patients To send patients to various other departments for investigations To provide comprehensive nursing care to patient waiting for admission To assist for various procedures done in the department To transfer patients to ICU and wards To keep emergency drugs and articles for use To check the ambulance daily for its efficiency and availability of equipment s To inform cardiac and non-cardiac ambulance calls to the ambulance executive To maintain CSSD items and inventory To inform the sister in charge regarding any need for the repair or replacement of any equipment Checking the unit bedside equipment s working condition and availability eg oxygen monitor ECG machine ventilators defibrillators crash cart trolley central suction Supervises work of housekeeping staffs like bed and equipment cleaning 8 General Profile Skills and Knowledge The ambulance executive must have good communication He should be organized and understanding She should also have good management skills and motivate her team Academic Background Essential GNM RGNM Preferable Specialised training in Emergency
