Ranked as one of the most innovative companies in the world KONE is a global leader in elevator and escalator business Every day millions of people use our elevators and escalators across the world Our objective is to be a leader in sustainability - not only in our own industry but also beyond We have improved the flow of urban life for more than 110 years and we want to share our expertise to help our customers in making cities smart sustainable and better places to live KONE Technology Innovation KTI is a global organization of technology design and IT experts who research and create new technologies and solutions for innovative People Flow We are now looking for an BOM Engineer to join R D Sustainability team at KONE R D in Chennai India R D Sustainability team is responsible for ensuring KONE solutions meet the ever-tightening global environmental legislation as well as green building related customer requirements We work to show that our solutions are made from safe and durable sustainable materials which contribute to several major green building rating schemes We are also driving KONE s scope 3 emissions reductions BOM is responsible for creating BOM Structure based on drawings already available in KONE Product data management PDM System BOM Engineer will follow Kone way process and guidelines as per standard To be successful in this position you will Ability to understand the drawing in PDM Create BOM based on drawing either as fixed or variable Create BOM in lean so that maintenance is easy Understanding product configuration and variant configuration is an advantage Support KTI product development activities Be fluent in both written and verbal English Have great co-operation and networking skills Previous knowledge or experience of green building ratings schemes creating Environmental Product Declarations and understanding requirements of the EU REACH and RoHS is considered a great asset Skills Education and Experience - Required Skills and Qualifications Bachelor s degree in mechanical Electrical or Electronics Engineering 2-5 years of experience in 3D modeling for mechanical electrical or electronic design Expertise in creating assemblies engineering drawings and Bills of Materials BOM Proficient in data management including version control and BOM management Familiarity with workflow automation and process optimization techniques Excellent communication and problem-solving skills Elevator industry experience is considered an added advantage Solid understanding of product development processes and lifecycle stages Strong skills in Microsoft Excel experience with handling large datasets is a plus Coding experience for automating Excel files using VBA Python etc is an asset Fluent in both written and spoken English Demonstrates the ability to work independently and deliver assigned tasks on time Applies a strong customer service mindset We offer We can offer strong support in your personal growth and global opportunities for future career development at KONE We believe in inspiring engaging and developing our people At KONE we are focused on creating an innovative and collaborative working culture where we value the contribution of each individual Employee engagement is a key focus area for us and we encourage participation and the sharing of information and ideas Sustainability is an integral part of our culture and the daily practice We follow ethical business practices and we seek to develop a culture of working together where co-workers trust and respect each other and good performance is recognized In being a great place to work we are proud to offer a range of experiences and opportunities that will help you to achieve your career and personal goals and enable you to live a healthy and balanced life Read more on
