Job Description NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included. The shift pattern for this post is 1 full time posts available (37.0 HRS/Wk), worked between Monday-Friday 0800-1800. The unit consists of 3 operating theatres, 1 treatment room area, and a recovery room. The unit provides peri operative care for patients undergoing a range of surgical procedures including, Gynaecology, Urology, General Surgery, Elective Orthopaedics and Ophthalmology. In addition to having current NMC/HCPC registration applicants should be enthusiastic, motivated and have an interest of working in the peri-operative environment. Previous experience within the peri-operative environment, is a definate advantage, although not essential as full training will be given. The department offers team support and continuing educational opportunities. Due to service demands the succesful candidates may be required to work in theatres both at IRH and RAH on a regular basis. These posts require PVG Scheme membership /Disclosure Scotland Check. The successful candidates are required to demonstrate flexibility by working within a service, which runs over a 5 day week. Furthermore, the successful candidates will be expected where necessary to engage in multi-site working within NHS Greater Glasgow and in order to achieve the needs of the service.
