Job Description Primary Title: Pediatric Surgeon Industry: Healthcare Pediatric Surgery & Tertiary Pediatric Care. We operate a high-acuity, on-site pediatric surgical service in India providing comprehensive operative and perioperative care for neonates, infants, and children. This role focuses on delivering evidence-based surgical care, improving clinical outcomes, and collaborating within multidisciplinary pediatric teams. You will work in a modern tertiary care environment supporting high volumes of congenital, neonatal, trauma, and specialty pediatric procedures. Role & Responsibilities - Perform comprehensive preoperative evaluation, plan and execute pediatric surgical procedures across neonatal, infant, and childhood age groups with emphasis on safety and outcomes. - Manage emergency pediatric surgical presentations including trauma, acute abdomen, and neonatal surgical emergencies with timely decision-making and operative intervention. - Lead perioperative care: coordinate with anesthesiology, neonatology, pediatric intensive care, and nursing to optimise recovery and reduce complications. - Deliver minimally invasive (laparoscopic) and open surgical techniques; apply evidence-based approaches for congenital anomaly repair and complex reconstructions. - Supervise and mentor junior surgeons, residents, and clinical staff; contribute to clinical governance, morbidity & mortality reviews and quality-improvement initiatives. - Maintain accurate clinical documentation, participate in multidisciplinary meetings, and contribute to training, audits, and academic activities. Skills & Qualifications Must-Have - Pediatric laparoscopic surgery - Neonatal surgery - Congenital anomaly repair - Pediatric trauma management - Pediatric critical care management - Advanced Pediatric Life Support (APLS) Preferred - Pediatric oncology surgery - Minimally invasive pediatric surgery - Robotic pediatric surgery exposure Qualifications (role-specific): MBBS with M.Ch or DNB in Pediatric Surgery (or equivalent) and valid Indian medical registration. Demonstrable post-qualification experience in tertiary pediatric surgical practice, strong operative case portfolio across neonatal and pediatric procedures, and experience in multidisciplinary team leadership preferred.
