What we need: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Legal Counsel to support our team in handling customer construction, contracting and procurement matters. Job Responsibilities: - Advise on construction-related legal matters, such as drafting, reviewing and negotiating construction contracts, subcontractor agreements, and engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contracts. - Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including customer contracts, service level agreements, and non-disclosure agreements. - Provide legal support and guidance on procurement matters, including drafting and negotiating supply agreements, vendor contracts, and service agreements. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, operations, finance, and technical teams, to ensure legal compliance and mitigate risks in commercial transactions. - Provide legal opinions and advice on regulatory compliance matters in connection with responsibility areas (including data privacy, cybersecurity, and environmental regulations). - Monitor legal developments in the industry, focusing on key responsibility areas and provide updates and guidance to the organization on relevant legal issues and best practices. - Manage outside counsel and legal service providers as needed to support the company's legal needs. - Assist in the development and implementation of legal policies, procedures, and templates to streamline the contracting process and ensure consistency across the organization. Requirements: - Qualified lawyer with admission to practice law in India, Hong Kong, Australia, and Singapore - 3-8 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) in commercial construction, contracting, and procurement law, preferably with experience in the data center or technology industry. - Strong drafting, negotiation, and contract management skills, with a proven ability to handle complex commercial transactions. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide practical and commercially-oriented legal solutions. - Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. - Proficiency in English is required, with fluency in Hindi, Mandarin or other Asian languages being an advantage. Desirable Qualities: - Prior experience working in-house or in a law firm supporting clients in the data center, technology, or telecommunications industries. - Familiarity with industry-standard contracts and best practices in the data center and technology sectors. - Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. - Flexibility and adaptability to work in a dynamic and rapidly-evolving industry. - Strong commitment to professional ethics and integrity.
