Hana Platform Administrator

Job Description

We are looking for an experiencedSAP HANA Consultantwith strong expertise in SAP Native HANA Analytics, BW on HANA, and ABAP on HANA implementations. The role involves end-to-end HANA platform administration, including design, development, performance tuning, and troubleshooting. The ideal candidate will possess deep knowledge of HANA 2.0 architecture, advanced SQL, HANA modeling, and integration with tools like SLT, BODS, and reporting platforms (Tableau, Qlik, AO). This position requires excellent analytical and communication skills, collaboration across cross-functional teams, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement and issue resolution. Experience in HANA upgrades, security, hardware management, and cloud/on-premise environments is essential.

Roles and Responsibilities:

- Extensive knowledge in the Analysis, Design, Development and Implementations of SAP Native HANA Analytics, SAP BW on HANA, ABAP on HANA projects.
- Determine data requirements and best practices for advance data manipulation, storage and analysis strategies in a data warehouse environment.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Working experience of how to identify existing solutions for SAP HANA issues
- Working on SAP Notes and engaging SAP Vendor Team.
- Highly self-motivated and directed.
- Experience in working in team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Should take ownership of individual deliverables.
- Participate in the continuous improvement processes as assigned.
- Working closely with Basis team, Security Team, BODS Team, SLT Team and BOE Team.
- Perform HANA Admin, design, development and tuning as required.
- Perform troubleshooting and problem resolution of applications built and being supported.
- Perform effort estimation for various implementation and enhancement activities.
- Support and coordinate the efforts of Subject Matter Experts, Development, Quality Assurance, Usability, Training, Transport Management, and other internal resources for the successful implementation of system enhancements and fixes.
- Participate in the continuous improvement processes as assigned.
- Work with team members to analyze, plan, design, develop, and implement solutions to meet strategic, usability, performance, reliability, control, and security requirements.
- Create and maintain internal documentation and end-user training materials as needed.
- Provide input to standards and guidelines and implement best practices to enable consistency across all projects.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

- 3 to 5 years Advanced Level of experience in HANA Platform Admin and Support activities.
- Working experience of at least 2 HANA end to end upgrade projects.
- Working Knowledge of at least 1 year of HANA Modelling.
- Detailed Knowledge of HANA Architecture 2.0 (Distributed HANA DB Architecture) - System DB, HANA DB, Index server
- Knowledge of HANA Admin activities including Performance Tuning, Monitoring Memory, CPU Utilization, Troubleshooting Expensive Queries, Troubleshooting Connectivity problems and Network Performance, Troubleshooting Configuration Parameter Issues, Monitoring System Alerts and Resource Utilization, SQL trace analysis.
- Expert knowledge in design & creation of Information Models in HANA using Attributes views, Analytic views, Calculation views (both Script based & graphical).
- Advanced level of experience in HANA SQL is must.
- High level knowledge of SLT and BODS.
- Knowledge of HANA Security (Overview of Users/Roles/Analytical Privileges).
- Knowledge of the Infrastructure of HANA systems (Scale up and Scale out) and landscape, Primary and Secondary Systems, BCP systems.
- Knowledge of the Reporting tools (Tableau/AO/Qlik) Integrations to HANA.
- HANA Platform - On Premise & Cloud Roadmap - New features.
- HANA Hardware Management & Licensing.
- Experience of Incidents Troubleshooting (reported in ServiceNow).
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or Business Information Systems or MCA or equivalent degree.
